They definitely change. I do think even the Republican party gets pulled left to survive especially when it comes to some programs and cultural issues. I still think some of the base tenants are still there with the right person.

I think there are moderates in the democrat party - Josh Shapiro is one but he would have a tough road to lead a centrist party for several reasons I'm sure we both share. He is also a risk to moderate Republicans that don't care for Trump because he is still a Democrat and would have to kowtow to the growing socialist base. The same way Bredesen was thought of. That is too risky.

Shapiro and Beshear are both moderates, but I don't think either one has the stomach for running for POTUS

Running for POTUS definitely tears you down but I agree on Shapiro. I don't know about Beshear but he doesn't fit the woke physical narrative. Shapiro is Jewish. Enough said when it comes to the left.

If that's true not sure I believe it, surely there are legit charges that prohibited government officials conspiring with members of organized crime.

While Trump isn't really all that conservative, it's the Trump Republicans who have driven the party further right, and most of them are hard right conservatives.
