Too much ice

Welcome to yesterdays topic. Maybe brush up on the history of the dead child rapist and circle back.
The article is behind a paywall, but...

"Homicide" means, "killed by a person". I'm not sure what ICE has said that that contradicts, but the important factor, just as in the Greene case would be whether it's justifiable homicide or murder. What were the circumstances surrounding the death? I haven't seen that posted much.

What has ICE lied about in this case?

Looked it up.

ICE is saying that he was attempting to end his life and security intervened.

“Campos violently resisted the security staff and continued to attempt to take his life,” McLaughlin told the Post. “During the ensuing struggle, Campos stopped breathing and lost consciousness. Medical staff was immediately called and responded. After repeated attempts to resuscitate him, EMTs declared him deceased on the scene.”

A fellow inmate is claimed that guards struggled with him as he said he couldn't breathe.

Fellow inmate Santos Jesus Flores told the Post he witnessed “at least five guards struggling with Lunas Campos after he refused to enter the segregation unit.”

According to Flores, he saw guards “choking Lunas Campos” and heard him repeatedly crying, “I can’t breathe” in Spanish.

It'll be interesting to follow as facts come out.

The timeline seems confusing to me.

Above, the article makes it sound like the man died while struggling with guards to get him into confinement.

This article makes it sound like he died later, while in confinement. Combined with the two articles, it sounds like he became disruptive in line, struggled with guards while he was being put into confinement, (attempted to take his own life?), medical personnel were called to try to help, but he died?

ICE reports that Lunas Campos passed away after he "became disruptive while in line for medication and refused to return to his assigned dorm."

He was subsequently isolated. While in segregation, staff noticed him in distress and called on-site medical personnel for help.

The statement further noted that, "Medical staff responded, initiated lifesaving measures, and requested emergency medical services. Lunas was pronounced deceased by EMS."

From the article in my above post:

“Campos violently resisted the security staff and continued to attempt to take his life,” McLaughlin told the Post. “During the ensuing struggle, Campos stopped breathing and lost consciousness. Medical staff was immediately called and responded. After repeated attempts to resuscitate him, EMTs declared him deceased on the scene.”

Surely there's video in the facility. Hopefully, it's released so we can judge for ourselves? Either prove the guards to be murderers or clear them, but do so on the facts of the case.

Well, it's useful to see a liberal come out and say it. Undermines the "Trump is a threat to our republic" crap and boils it down to a disregard for the republic in favor of personal sensibilities. Sounds like you're the caricature of MAGA, just in reverse. Not really offended if your politicians are honoring the Constitution as long as they are your guys.
I’m a liberal today. Yay.

You’ve misunderstood my position (as well as @hog88 ’s) from the beginning.

But keep tilting at windmills.

Apologies if so. I was going by your statement that you didn't care if they were right or wrong, just celebrating liberal progressive states defying the fedz.

I don't remember many or any other posts responding to either of you on the subject, so I'm confused by the "from the beginning" part. Though I post in spurts and may have forgotten a post or two.

I understand that both of you are arguing states' rights and small federal gov't. To celebrate states defying the feds against care for the Constitution is a step beyond IMHO.

So what happened to the two of you?
The exact same thing that happened to pretty much everyone (including you) to some degree.......
trump and trumpism has made them angrier, less civil, dumber, and less tolerable......as intended
granted.....many only perceive this in others and not themselves.....but the more insightful among us know better

The libs on the board fell for a headline without knowing the discrepancies of what happened, and the history of the deceased. They chose to hitch their wagon up to a child rapist and then got called out on it. Now they can’t backtrack, because then they would be MAGA.

Most articles on the "homicide" angle link back to MSN and a recording where a non-Dr staffer speaks to the daughter and says that the Dr may rule it a homicide, pending results of further tests. Up to the point of the articles I've found, claiming that the coroner has or is ruling it a homicide would be a misstatement. Even claiming that "the coroner has stated" would be untrue as far as I can tell.

That's not even considering the fact that "homicide" != murder.

I've read several articles trying to piece together what happened, and I still have little idea. We need video released so everyone can make fact-based opinions on the matter.

Yea, as is true with everyone.....especially trump

It's just that I hate when people change a post with the whole "fify" nonsense.
I'm usually going to return the favor.
Newsome is everything the left hates about Trump. Except President. It’s going to be awkward when y’all start running him out as the Dem. candidate.

I bet you and a bunch of people in here want to believe him...just like they want to believe all the ICE lies, like

"She huwt my widdle stomach"

"And the widdle baby I flashbanged was going towawd da pwotests."
Seems like you especially don’t want to believe it.

I don’t really care.

My friend is a Dem - a Kamala voter. Not sure why he’d make that up
