I found this hilarious. Good for Southwest to kick him off too. I have sat next to (or rather ON!) so many people that needed to have been left at the gate! buy two tickets or drive!!!!!!!!

I didn't think he was that large....I also haven't seen him in a couple years. Sucks for him and possibly for Southwest due to the publicity....I'm sure they will both be just fine :)

It said he bought two tickets in that piece.

The story is vastly different if he did actually purchase two tickits beforehand.

I thought he bought two tickets on the original flight but decided to fly stand-by on the second and didn't get two.

that's correct but he met the SW requirement for fitting comfortably in his seat

Southwest's "Customer of Size" policy requires that travellers must be able to fit safely and comfortably in one seat.
Smith insisted that he was able to put both arm rests down and buckle his seat belt, which is Southwest's standard.

and seriously, you paid $50 for the ticket. It's not going to be a pleasure cruise across the country. You could definitely get a less interesting person to sit next to

I fly enough that I'm all for restricting the size of people if they are going to take up both armrests and spill over into my area.

What he says he could do and what actually happened may be two entirely different things. I have sat next to too many fat people on flights. I am sick of them spilling over.

for the life of me i can't see how anyone would flame southwest for this. i've sat next to ultra fat people. why should i be uncomfortable because they are two cheap to pay for a seat that they can fit into?

Better than sitting next to people that constantly have gas.:mf_surrender:

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I thought I'd be berated for thinking fat people should hve to buy 2 tix. Cause they shouldn't be able to spill over into mine.

Actually, he did pay for 2 tickets but then moved to a flight that only had 1 seat open.

Oh Kevin Smith, Clerks and Chasing Amy are far behind you and they don't even mention the fact you direct the new movie Cop Out in the trailers. You milked the Star Wars superfan angle as far as those man boobs would take you but all you have left is attention whoring for a spot on the next season of Celebrity Fit Club.

I had more hope for you dude, flaming out in a pile of nachos is no way for a man to go.
