Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

I saw that too but no other site or forums within this site are saying that. So I’m choosing to not believe that poster.
I really don’t know what to believe. The poster has over 400 posts so I don’t think it’s someone trolling. They said the buyout issue has been resolved but also that Tony had NIL and player parent issues...?

I’ll be honest in that I don’t follow baseball closely enough to know who’s a legit source and who’s not within the baseball realm. But I love Tony V and what he’s done here has made me actually interested and invested in baseball. So I’m choosing to go with my gut and say if other sites/forums aren’t mentioning it, then this poster is wrong or misinformed.

Exactly I don’t buy it. Until I see a break in podcast from Basilio not happening. I just don’t buy that he is leaving. He will be miserable in MLB.

So you have the professional ability to tell someone how good of a professional manager Tony V. would be, “interesting”. Oh yes, and that rah, rah, attitude you speak of, has led Tennessee to record breaking seasons and a National Championship. You need to show a few more creditionals before you have the right to judge Coach T.V. You sound like a 16 year old “keyboard king” Trying to get a rise out of Tennessee fans. (Just my opinion).
Do you think Tony would adapt well to losing 80 games a year? I don’t.

I think Tony is pretty dang smart. He can be the Saban of college baseball. If we get the NIL set, Tony will take this through the roof.

Giants are willing to pay the first ever CBB manager to MLB manager transition 6m a year but are also reportedly balking over paying a $3m buyout?

Someone's wrong somewhere in that.
Well to make the cash just even you'd have to pay him $4 million bc of state income tax. Now add cost of living. My guess is $5 million in San Fran is about $ 3 million in Knoxville . Now the guy you want needs a raise

Ben McKee just a few mintues ago:

"As we come to the end of the weekend, a decision has not been made from my understanding. I do think we could hear something within the next 24 hours, but a decision was also supposed to be made by the end of Friday night.

We’ll see what happens, but I believe the fact a decision has not been made is a positive sign considering The Athletic’s report insinuated that it was basically a done deal."

So it’s basically 50/50

I guess this is positive news, but I’m just ready to have my heart ripped out again.

That would literally make him the 4th highest paid manager in MLB. I’m sorry, but that’s one hell of a reach. Can you imagine Tony after 80 losses? Yikes.
Tony would also have a terrible time getting experienced support staff on board. He would be seen as the boy king of San Fran having jumped over guys who have been working their way up for years. They wouldn’t take him seriously.

If nothing else, this has put the Bama loss in perspective - I’ve not stewed over it like I normally would have. This is a much bigger deal.

I told my husband tonight I’d take football losses to Bama for the next five years to keep Tony. I believe he’s that important to our university.
Tony is irreplaceable to the university

The cost of living calculator I found says 3 mil in TN $$ = 5.85 mil in CA $$$
