Listened to Ryan Schumpert on Fox Sports Knox today, he said if Vitello leaves he doesn’t think Danny White would hire Elander simply because he’s “Tony’s Guy” and DW thinks he can find someone who can do it. Also added while they don’t completely hate eachother, DW and Vitello aren’t friends either

Surely the boosters would make it known to ADDW how.... unhappy.... they would be if he didn't hire Elander in this hypothetical scenario. I know our boosters have interfered to the detriment of the Athletic Department in the past - think Haslam/Schiano Sunday - but this is one situation where it would absolutely be needed and necessary

I don't think DW and TV are best buddies or anything, but there are other guys who cover this beat who think if Tony goes it will be Elander's job. Hope we don't have to find out.

That would be the stupidest thing ever. If he didn’t make Elander at least interim coach that would also mean losing Anderson, Kivett, and Coach Q. Not to mention the recruits and transfer players we would lose. All new coaching staff, losing one of the top classes in the country……surely D White is not that dumb.
