Tony brings such transparency to his public role as head baseball coach. He lets us watch him grow and mature, not just as a coach, but as a person. He's real, and that alone would be enough to make a parent want their college age son to play for him.

Tony brings transparency, intellect, emotion, energy, love of the game….the list goes on and on. You really couldn’t generate a list of attributes for college baseball coaches and come up with anyone better. He keeps it real each and every day.

Mine too. He’s a winner and definitely understands the relationship side of coaching. I’ve never seen a coach in any sport that is more loved by his current and former players. His support of these players is something special. You can tell he loves his players and they love him

Winner who definitely gets it

Tony brings such transparency to his public role as head baseball coach. He lets us watch him grow and mature, not just as a coach, but as a person. He's real, and that alone would be enough to make a parent want their college age son to play for him.

I really believe that the honesty and transparency are what separates Tony from the others. His guys know what he tells them is the truth. I have a feeling that some things Tony tells them may not be what they want to hear but need to hear. That is why they respect and trust him. Even Chase Burns knows Tony was doing what was best for him at that point in his career. Did it help the team? Yes it did but it also got Burns back on track. We are so blessed to have Tony as our coach .

That was a great interview. Tony is one of the sharpest and wittiest coaches I have ever seen. I don’t know what his IQ is, but my impression is that he is at least two steps ahead of everyone else in the room. I like how articulate he is. And the way he knows how each of his players “tick” and how to handle each one individually is truly an art and a science. We are blessed to have him here.

Incredible interview. I originally just planned to listen to a few minutes and turn it off because it was so long. But I had to listen to the whole thing. He’s such an exceptional speaker. I’m always riveted when I listen to him break things down.

I hope this man retires a Vol. Don’t think I’ve ever been more proud to have a coach represent the big orange.
