He's the man. There's no denying. I am flabbergasted personally by how well that team is doing this year.

The smartest thing Stewart did was hire Darian Grubb as his crew chief. That guy just knows how to set up a car. He hired really good, experienced people to surround himself with and its showing. Bobby Hutchens has been around the sport for a really long time and when Tony shows up at the track, Hutchens can act as the team manager for both teams and Stewart just drives, which is what he does best.

Can you believe how much he was letting off in the corners. He was strong all day. I think he passed 10 cars on the first lap and was in the top 20 by lat 13 or so.

Congrats to Smoke today! Based on the Hendrick cars finishes, including those with Hendrick engines, Jr. still sucks! Is it the crew chief, the Dale Jr crew or Jr himself? Maybe it's a mixture of all the aforementioned. Jr will be the only Hendrick engine cars not to make the CHASE. He'll end up probably 14th-17th.

tony stewart is definitely the man. i figured this year would be a learning process for him being the principle owner and all, but he has proven he can do it all. i hope he wins the cup this year.

With great wisdom I decided not to pick him since he had to start from the back with a back-up car. The same wisdom used when I predicted last year that he would not be a contender his first year as an owner/driver.

I hate to do this to Smoke, but I just became a full fledged fan. And hey, what about Newman, another top 5!

If you look back through his career, he always seems to run better when his back is against the wall.

My favorite by far. Alot of people give me hell for being a Stewart fan, oh well.

he is going to win it this year.

just by his interviews you can tell he's the cool and calculated Tony Stewart, not the "nobody else can drive" Tony Stewart. at this point, basically locked into the Chase, he's going to be out to win every race. i would be shocked if he gives up the points lead, even when it's reset for the Chase.

He certainly looks to be on track to win it the old-fashioned way if nothing else.

I wouldn't mind seeing that history made. :)

I wouldn't mind seeing Tony win either but I would love to see Mark Martin get a championship before he retires.

I think the odds are stacked against him doing it but that would be great to see Mark Martin win one. I understand why most people don't want to see Johnson win again too. I have my favorites but there are several guys I would like to see win a championship.

Mark has proven that he's capable of getting the job done. The problem is, that two of his teammates have been a whole lot more consistent.
