Tony Stewart ran over another driver.

I think the accident has worked on Tony mentally. He is not the driver he was before it happened.

The knee injury and old age is more the cause of that than this IMO. He was starting to slow down even before the injury.

I'd bet that he either has or will pay some sort of settlement.

I have a feeling he was going to do that regardless because that's the kind of person Tony Stewart is.
