I remember hearing something crazy like him sitting on the fifty and throwing it through the uprights or something like that

Don't remember that about TR; could be true. But I think I remember a story about Shuler kneeling on the 50 and banking them off the uprights. I could be wrong about that, too.

Hey, remember when he got injured in the Alabama game and all their fans cheered? Another reason to remember to hate Alabama fans this weekend.

Hey thanks for posting this on T Rob. Knew he had some drug related problems but always wondered what happen to him. The man could throw the prettiest side line touch pass of all time!! Man back in the good ole days. I think the bama game he got hurt in was the same one Dale Jones had that incredible tip pass interception!!! Good memories and fun times!!!

peyton > robinson

I'm talking about at Tennessee while wearing the orange. That's all. Manning might have been a better pure passer while at UT, although Robinson had a stronger arm and could make all the throws you needed him too. But Robinson was by far the more complete, opposition-killing weapon. If I need to win one college football game and I get the choice of 1984-5 Tony Robinson or 1996-7 Peyton Manning, there's no question which one I want.

(And that's without even getting into the indelicate topic of who had a history of gagging in the big games and who didn't.)

Tony had more talent than any other QB I have seen at Tn. That game against AU in 85 was just awesome.Tony had a strong arm, it looked like his thows were so effortlessly.
besides Peyton this to me was the next best QB I have seen at Tn.He was the complete QB.

Tony Robinson was RGIII with a better arm. He was that far ahead of his time. Randall Cunningham was the only thing close a few years later. Robinson was better than him, before the injury and drug problems. Quite a sight to behold.

I hate to hear about those kinds of problems.

I love hearing about the ones that are able to resolve the problems.

Bravo, TR.

Yes TR had the best arm to ever wear the orange, but remember TB has a pretty good arm too. I think just on pure talent Tee Martin was better because no.1 he was more of a dual threat QB; he could beat you with a 50 yd. run. Not to mention TM is the best QB we have ever had when it comes to dropping bombs. He had a knack for hitting the WR in stride on the fly route. But TR like Ainge was better at hitting the receiver while on the move.

The first game I saw TR play in person was the 84 UK game; yes he lost to Kentucky.

Tony Toot Toot had a canon for an arm but I remember Condredge when he played and felt like he was way ahead of his time as well. Condredge would beat you with his arm and his legs, some of his runs defenders looked as if they were getting their ankles snapped when Condredge would cut.
