Scout.com is reporting that Tony Passley has been dismissed from the team for a "violation of team rules", which in this case considers to be academic reasons. Not sure how it affects the recruitment of Cordell Passley, the younger brother of Tony, who is a rising senior in Indianapolis. Either way, thats another scholarship available now...

With the new scholly rules will this have an adverse affect? I know I have heard that Morris' departure is somehow going to hurt UK's NCAA "grade".

Morris accomplished in college what you're supposed to accomplish in college...get where you want to go.

This would be quite a turnaround from having the highest GPA on the team last Spring, which is what Pearl said after the legal run-in.

Atleast its good to see some punishment being dished out, thank god Pearl is not like U. Meyer, or passley could have skipped class and get 3 warnings for smoking WEED lol

1. I think we can safely assume the recruitment of Cordell Passley is over. 2. Who cares if it hurts the APR? The idea that taking someone's 13th scholarship away really hurts a team is the most laughable myth being floated in college sports today.

Those new graduation rules or so stupid. I mean Kentucky can't help it that he left. The Big Orange's score gets hurt because Passley can't behave is ridiculous too. I guess we can think Mr. Dork Gee at Vanderbilt for that one though.

Like Hat said, for those of you that havent followed basketball recruiting lately, Pearl has cut off the recruitment of Cordell Passley. He is no longer a UT target. Cordell is having his own academic problems in high school and we took our hat out of the running.

Yep, those 13th scholarship players are now starting at mid-major schools and doing well.

I read somewhere on a board that Pearl has been quoted saying that this isn't going to push us over the edge with the APR yet so we still have that scholly if we want.

what's funny is that Gee's wife was busted for smoking the chronic in the university owned president's home. They are now divorcing by the way. I wonder if that hurts Vandy's score.
