I've been a big defender of Chaney. But, he puts Bray in positions to fail. We have a guy in CP that can make plays after the catch. How many times have you seen a quick throw out for a WR screen to let him get the ball quick? Teams do this to keep D-s honest. To force them to play their DBs closer to the line, so then a WR can bust one deep.
Or, do you think the TE has been utilized well this year?
What do you think of the short passing game?
Chaney puts Bray in situations where he holds the ball and has to think too much. UT seems to always want the homerun ball, instead of any methodical movement down the field. Look at time of possession. Look at UT's 3 and outs.

Heck, they're snapping it directly to him. He doesn't need Bray to handle and take credit.

You must be a terrific poker player with that remark. I presume the sarcasm...but when I stopped the film during that first bama t.d. pass to see FIVE vols all alone in the secondary, I almost puked in my mouth. It only got worse as the game went along. Secondary has gotten worse as the season limps along.

This guy is legite he loves Tn. as much as any of you guys on volnation don't talk about TB he is spot on with every thing he says.

Good one! From what I saw, if a UT DB happened to be near a Bama receiver, it was coincidence and nothing more!

BTW, the Vols rank 13th in the SEC in pass defense. And dead last in run defense, scoring defense, and total D. Thanks Sal, you the man.

Good for Dooley he's in the "those who tried" group. That doesn't mean he should be the head coach at UT.

totally agree, Chaney is still running 1990 offensive schemes that will not work against evolving Defenses in the SEC. Its all or nothing w Chaney- no screens, short passes, pitches, just run up the middle or throw a bomb on 3-1. I like the guy, but he is past his experation date.

I got blasted when I posted how much it actually hurt us to lose DR. While I know he was a basket case and a huge risk reward kinda guy. He made the offense better.

Now is our problem Chaney not calling the short pass or is the problem Bray thinking he can throw it all over the field on anyone in the league? Our playcalling on SEC teams has been somewhat strange. See the problem to me on offense is that yes we can score points. Although we also have a lot of 3 and outs to go with those points. Our defense is not good enough for the offense to have 3 and outs. We have to have one or two first downs every possesion to help the defense.

I really hate to say this because I think hes a tool. Although Kiffin was a great game manager/playcaller. It makes me think that he had Chaney mainly at UT as a QB coach. He called plays that were easy completions to get the QB's confidence up. Then he would hit some down the field throws to go with it. Right now we have a good enough running game to have won 2 of the 4 losses.

Absolutely bashing Dooley right now. I gotta agree with him though. Says Dooley should be terminated by noon today and to keep Pittman graham and Ansley
I agree with him. My football season is over. All I hear and read is negative Dooley. Why are they waiting to pull the trigger? Maybe line up candidates. I hope Charlie Strong is on the short list. We got a better chance of getting Peyton than Gruden. He says his family is ahead of coaching,
