Tony Basilio is right about Guarantano

If JG plays then Tenn has zero chance. I hate the thought of seeing that cancer out there. He is the blame for the booing. This is not the only fan base that boos the players and coaches. Fans were booing in the Ga game last Sat. It happens and always will. People are sick and tired of watching his garbage play. He offers nothing. Win or lose with JT and keep the cancer off the field

JG sleep with your wife or what, man? Put the pitchfork down and realize this is a kid trying his hardest but isn’t getting it done. No need to boo him. Encourage him. Cheer like crazy when he does well and hurt for the kid when he struggles. Unless you have evidence of a player intentionally sabotaging the team then take a deep breath and relax.

Boo well paid, grown men college coaches all day long if you want.

And If someone somehow sees this as a defense of JG’s play, just....no.

If JG is the QB I will support him. I am still frustrated about what happened last Saturday but that was then and I will support him if he is the guy this Saturday.

Having said that, I hope Maurer is cleared to start Saturday.

JG ...loves TN .. he just struggles in certain aspects .. all he does if try his best .. he dont want your half ass support .. I think it's awful to boo a kid .. and these are kids .. boo coaches making millions .. if you don't like or support JG just shut up ... zip it ..

If they start or play him, you don’t need to boo him boo the coaches. JG should have been permanently benched Saturday, scholarship removed Sunday, enter the transfer portal Monday.

It’s sad If he starts. Coach should start Jennings if anything. JG has way lost support from the masses. Silly-o is right but you can’t stop this train.
JJ was recruited as a QB. Starting him would be a desperation move, but it would be interesting to see him get some snaps because he seems to have a knack for making plays. Not just the miracle at Athens, but when it's third and long, he's been the one to throw the ball to. Maybe the best pure athlete on the team.

I don't think we should boo a player....

He also missed a wide open Jennings at the other end of the field in the 3rd QTR on a play that could've made it 28-17 instead of 28-13.
Ultimately--the score should've been 28-24 midway thru the 4th QTR...if JG can simply execute the plays that are there for the taking!
And that fact has gotten lost in the conversation, too!

And his teammates ALL KNOW IT.

So, IMO, JG simply cannot be allowed to start another game for us unless he's the only healthy QB on the team.

GO VOLS!

Wanted to be sure these points remained with us.

I also don't think CJP and Chaney can afford to put JG on the field as the starter for multiple reasons.

1. Chaney's comments about JG's play have come out over the last 2 TV game broadcasts --he isn't making the "lay-up" throws...
He is failing to make correct reads and audibles...etc..etc... that put us in bad offensive positions in games.

2. And now--if I'm JG's teammate--I simply can't overlook his selfish and stupid decision on the goal line against BAMA.
The players have all the information that we as fans don't and can't acquire as they review the film of the game.
CJP plays the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY from the game.

JG did have some equity of trust built from his performance during the Miss. State game.
But he threw it all away with his performance against BAMA. And it wasn't just the play on the goal line...

Just curious, was it JGs fault that we practically gave Alabama their 1st 7 points after a terrible kickoff return, 3-4 terrible plays run offensively with BM at qb, a terrible punt, awful punt coverage and a bad 1st defensive series?

JG... for JG's sake needs to find a place to play his Sr year. Maybe he can hit the reset and have a good year. But he is not and has not been an SEC caliber QB.
I don't think I said anywhere in that post about JGs caliber of QB play. You seem to like pointing out your opinion of his bad play even when it's not mentioned or brought up.

After reading tonight’s practice report, I think JG has checked out mentally.
GBO!!

This whole "going rogue" thing is ridiculous. Going rogue means sabotaging the team or having bad intentions. I think JG really thought he had a good idea, it just wasn't. He's hardly the first guy to try something ill advised on a football field.

No, that is not what "going rogue" means. The meaning of a term isn't simply what you want it to mean. That's not how definitions work.

Pruitt said specifically that with better QB play UT would have been 4-2 going into the Bama game. The O was anemic behind him. They frequently put the D at a disadvantage. JG couldn't make the throws to sustain the O against GSU... GSU! He was protected. He just couldn't see the open receivers and pull the trigger.

Pruitt has said some things about JG and the change at QB that you and k-town denied... assuming you're two different people. JG missed too many plays down field. He changed plays when he shouldn't have. He can't shake off bad plays.

I've not denied anything about JG after the Florida game and still feel like he puts us in position to score points even with a scaled back playbook. He converted several 3rd downs the last 2 ballgames via some very good throws, led us to 1st and goal 3 times Saturday only for us to shoot ourselves in the foot every time, once by him and the other 2 times via officiating. I blame our coaches and their gameplan in the red zone for those mess ups as much as everyone, you on the other hand seem to blame JG for everything, including team losses. I blame coaches for the losses and credit the players for the wins. Everyone moaning about JG or anyone else playing doesn't do any good. Besides it's all perspective anyway, JJ has 2 terrible drops vs Georgia and Alabama yet we've got several on here that actually think he is the best receiver in the conference. JG is not as bad as many here have made him to be and not nearly as good as his stats say. CJP said today that he believes in him and that's good enough for me. I'm hoping that Bailey and Hill alongside of a beefed up Maurer next season gives us good production there next year. Pruitt is in a mess by having to play BM this year before he was physically ready and before HB gets on campus in Jan. Whoever loses the starting qb job next year will very likely bolt somewhere else. It's not a popular opinion but I believe Bailey will start as a Fr and Pruitt will recruit the next starting QB after HB in the '21 or '22 class. If HB were to not come to Knoxville next season I suspect that we would have BM, Hill and maybe JT would stay. It's complicated because if Bailey comes in and wins the jobs and plays his Fr year then we could be going into the '21 season with just 1 decent QB on the roster after JG and Hill graduated, JT and BM could likely transfer out not wanting to be backups. It's evident that we need a viable backup if BM is our future at the position.

Maybe, but those media guys get to see very little of anything. Those fundamental reps are very boring for every player this time of year, especially on a 2-5 football team.

I'm listening to Basilio right now, and I agree with what he says about Guarantano. The fact is he is probably going to be the starter Saturday and we need to support him. Booing him and tweeting negative things at him is not going to help him play better. It is what it is. I get just as frustrated with his play as anybody, but there is a point where the negativity becomes toxic and hurts the team. Let's get behind him and hope he plays the best game of his life because we are stuck with him for now.

I once had a wife, that I felt the same way about, but being stuck, really sucks

Serious question, would JG benefit from a Sports Psychologist? Another serious question, would it help if they took JG to a strip club on Friday night?
The Psychologist could NOT hurt. I don't think JG would be all that much interested in a female strip club....just saying
