His insider told him not to worry, nothing would likely come.

yeah.. he just continues to urge the staff to be careful and he acknowledges that he is aware of some rumor that scares him

Of course he can't. He's not even sure it's Basilio, he's just creating random threads again. Next we'll get a couple of rumors from another site posted here as fact. Pretty common occurance these days.

Basically says that he heard something a little more involved with the NCAA review from some people and it scares him, but he will not share to the public anything that will damage UT. Then goes on to say that "X" thinks nothing will come of Hostess Gate. Just a little contradicting.

I want to clarify what I said yesterday on the air. I had an amazing response to the hour I spent on the air regarding Hostessgate. Look, I'm a fan first. I do what I do and it's not for everybody. I understand that. But I'll tell you something...Tennessee tradition matters to me. It means something to me. I don't want it to be harmed.


I believe this staff is comprised of highly competitive guys who aren't afraid to mix it up on the recruiting trail. This is going to dictate that they play in the grey areas from time to time.


What I said yesterday repeatedly was 'Coach Kiffin and staff, please be careful!'


I really like Kiffin. And I appreciate his approach. But the fact is, this is not USC. As for coach O, he's no longer @ USC or Ole Miss. Stuff that may have worked or past muster there is going to get red flagged at UT. In the eyes of the NCAA, Tennessee is not a chosen, regal society football program like USC. Nor are we a lesser like/never was like Ole Miss.


I said yesterday that I would never report anything that hurts UT. This show is for entertainment purposes only. It's not my job to help the NCAA or pile on.


That said, I've heard some stuff that concerns me. So I said yesterday on the air, please be careful.


Do I know if what I heard is true? No. The only people who know are those involved.


I do know that the NCAA would love to bust UT wide open. So, 'Coach Kiffin and staff, please be careful.'


And if I can't say or write that without people getting their boxers in a punch or panties in a wad, then some thing's wrong with this picture.


I'm not accusing anybody of anything. Nor would I. Look, I hate the NCAA and I think every player should get paid. So if you're into that sort of thing and I come across it, I'm turning my head.


I just don't like the idea of them snooping around. It scares me.


This case could be a bunch of nothing. Then again it could blow up for all I know. I just don't like having this stuff out there. And what I heard scares me a little bit.


Do I have to tell you what I heard? I hope not, because I'm not going to. Never will. Am I accusing anybody of anything? No.

Basically saying as a UT alum he wants Lane and staff to be careful. That UT isn't the darling like USC is and is not an also-ran like Ole Miss.

Just wants them to be careful he says.

Basically saying he keeps hearing (and insinuates he knows something but won't say what it is or who told him...) something that if the 'AA found out it would be bad for UT..... Nothing really new that we haven't been saying all week long.....

For what it's worth, I spoke with 'X' briefly on Thursday. He tells me he doesn't think much will come of Hostessgate. I hope he's right. More than you'll ever know!


Hearing mixed signals on Lance Thompson. Expect his situation to work out by the middle of next week. If I'm guessing, I'd say he's gone. Where, I don't know. Would be a loss for sure.

That would suck if Thompson leaves. So much for that all world staff. One year and it's pretty much cut in half. Maybe everyone can stop crying about how much we paid them now, since none of them will be around to pick up checks next year.

I agree, This staff was suppsoed to be all-everything .. Now they are all looking for ways out. Kind of frustrating... I guess money talks louder than tradition..
