Tony Barnhardt Agrees With Me

DatabaseFootball.com lists 288 Volunteers who played in the NFL, beginning in 1923 through last season. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Of those 288 players, VoMan38 would have to have played at Tennessee while PF was either an assistant or the head coach: 1980 to 2008

That removes 107 former players who began their NFL career(s) during the 1980 season, or earlier. This leaves 181 potential candidates remaining.

Of those remaining, only nine (9) former Vols played exactly eight (8) seasons in the NFL:

 • Greg Gaines
 • Raleigh McKenzie
 • Chris Mims
 • James Stewart
 • Shane Burton
 • Terry Fair
 • Mr. Al Wilson
 • Deon Grant
 • David Martin

Of those, total number who went to HS in Alabama when they signed with Tennessee.....as VolMan38 claims he did?

Not a single one.

Seems to only prove the assmuptions of so many -

VoMan38 is a liar.

Just a question, does this list include those who might have been bumped around the NFL and were on a practice roster(s) for part of that time?

Nice work :good!:

His profile says he was born May 20th, 1969. This would of made him a Senior in HS in 87, so if he came in at UT in the fall, he would have been on the roster in 87-90, playing all four w/out a redshirt, or 87-91 with a redshirt. This would have made him only play when Fulmer was an assistant. To have played under Fulmer as a head coach, he would have had to have been 25 years old when he walked on. This would almost be impossible, therefore setting of my BS meter.

I think it was the right time for Coach Fulmer to go, but to act like this towards his legacy is very low class. You guys are acting just like what you make fun of Bama fans for acting like.

volman38, nobody was even talking about fulmer or his legacy. you must be a huge fulmer supporter and thought that he should have been able to stay i little longer to see how far he could bury this program. plus you make yourself out to be an idoit with your post on here. they all seem negative to me.

Don't mind the question at all - it's a good one to ask.

I don't see any disclaimers or qualifiers as to the practice squad / active roster on the site. However, practice squad players are included on the roster (per NFL.com), and one would think that they'd be included on this list.

A good example would be Tee Martin. He's listed as being on an NFL roster in the 2001-2003 seasons -and my calculations counted that as three (3) seasons. In 2002, Tee was listed as both the starting QB for the Rhein Fire in the now defunct NFLE....but also listed on the off-season and practice squad(s) of the Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.

With that, it appears that the site "counts" a season for anyone who was listed on an NFL roster in a given season, at any time, for any reason, with any status (off-season, practice, developmental (NFLE), or active), just as I counted it.

Of course, this also conclusively proves it to be impossible that VolMan38 could have served eight (8) years in the NFL and somehow now shown up on this list due to some odd status or timing.

He didn't show up on this list because he's a liar.

Volman38, I'm a long time lurker and I hadn't joined for so long because I haven't had something that I really wanted to say.

Then I read this thread.

You are an idiot.
