Tonight's softball game cancelled

I guess around thirty at game time and dropping is a little to low. I wish we could play Auburn but want it to be a warm day when everyone could play their best.

It's the right call...I've coached games when it was in the mid 30s, with occasional sleet in one case, and believe me it's no fun, and can be quite dangerous to players, coaches and fans.

It's just a shame all those four thousand fans that bought tickets are not going to be able to see a game. This Mid-State Classic has gotten very popular in just a couple of years. I feel badly for those fans.

I was out there for the home run derby tonight and it was colder than I'd want to play in. The first year of the Classic was about as cold, though. The players seemed to be in good spirits despite the situation.

The home run derby was fun.

They sold $40,000 worth of tickets for the game so it's going to be interesting to see what the city does with all that ticket money.

I know I'll be back next year no matter what. Hopefully Auburn will come again or maybe another SEC team.

Thanks for sharing your pics. We were almost to Columbia when we heard it was canceled. Since we already had taken the day off, decided to make the best if it. We ate at Legends, a great local restaurant, then went to a movie. We were late for the derby, but talked with several players and families at the Cracker Barrel. So, all-in-all, a good time. Definitely too cold for a softball game.

Who is the player in the top photo--head shot--and who is that swinging in the below photos? Thanks.

Please tell me how it's dangerous, especially to coaches and fans? :eek:lol:

Or are you confusing the word dangerous with miserable?
