Because Butch doesn't care if a punter plays against us in two years. Doesn't matter. Let kids go wherever they want if they don't want to be here. Blocking them from transferring where they want is petty.

He's a punter. He didn't have a playbook. He didn't sit in offensive or defensive strategy meetings. The only play or scheme he could even possibly bring to them is a fake punt.

Then Butch isn't doing everything in his power to win the East and beat our rivals. Do you really think Saban would let a kid transfer to UT?

What Nick Saban would or wouldn't do has no bearing on what is right.

If you really believe that letting a punter transfer so he can play with his brother is Butch not wanting to win the East, then I really don't know what to say.

I totally agree. IMO, it is also sign of insecurity when a coach blocks a player from transferring to a particular school.

Coaches should work with the player and support them in doing what is best for the player.

Butch didn't block JJ Watt (starting TE lol) from transferring to Wisconsin when he was at CMU. I don't think he is going to block a punter. lol.

I hope future recruits notice the difference in attitude between CBJ, Smart and Saban. Jones recruits bricks that want to be part of the building, he also gets it that an 18 year old can have priorities change. I think this attitude will foster loyalty. Jones has class.

Aaron Douglas. Would not let him transfer anywhere within 500 miles of Tennessee. He went to junior college in Arizona, then transferred to Alabama before his unfortunate death.
