Tommy Bowden to Arky today?

Words cannot adequately describe what an awful hire that is for Arkansas.

Of course, if their basketball search is any indication, Broyles only turned to Bowden after being turned down by Bill Parcells, Don Shula, Jon Gruden, Bill Cowher, Bob Stoops, Pete Carroll, the Ghost of Bear Bryant, Hayden Fox, Colin Powell, Spider Man, Butch Davis, Bill Clinton, Alf, Mr. Belvedere, and Lou Dobbs.

We don't see Arkansas again for a few years, so I'm not too concerned about who they hire.

For what it's worth, I think Bowden would be a horrible hire.

How can you fire a guy who wins 2 SEC West titles...only to turn around and offer to overpay a guy who can't win his division in a conference where Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Wake Forest are playing for championships?

On one level it would make sense because that's where Johnson started. But I wonder if the fanbase would go ballistic if they hired a guy away from Vanderbilt.

Bowden and Nutt were the only ones without a conference title."

why would clemson keep bowden? It seems like a program that could make some noise in a weak acc with the right coach.

Reportedly, Clemson is offering Tommy 2.2 million annually, and a 7 year extension.

First Arkansas, now Clemson. How stupid are these schools? What exactly did Tommy Bowden do, overnight, to warrant a $1 million/year pay raise?

Yeah, Fulmer will want about $1 million more 'just because.' (After all, he did win a National Championship. Anybody read that before?)
