I have heard nothing but really good things about this. Picking it up from RedBox tonight, probably won't play it till tomorrow. I will let you know how it is.

Played through the campaign yesterday, took about eight ish hours.

Pretty good game, entertaining enough, good mixture of stealth and gunfights. And... Lara Croft. Could watch all day

The reviews I've seen look solid.

Some of the death scenes are pretty graphic, however, and are getting mixed reviews.

This game is definitely worth at least a rent. I have been playing for a few hours and it is great. Probably would not buy because there is not much playability after beating the game. You can search for relics and other things.

The game is a lot, and I mean a lot, like Uncharted. It's an ok game. Story kinda sucks and predictable, AI is horrible on default settings. Has really great level design and good playable cinematic scenes. The biggest flaw, puzzles are almost non existent, yeah you heard me. The very few that are in the game are extremely too easy. There is a lot of figuring out how to jump from here to get to there so you can create a rope bridge across that, but real head scratcher puzzles are nowhere to be found. Oh, even if they were in the game. There is this focus like thing that turns everything black and white except what you need to get to/interact with which is highlighted in gold/yellow. Games are too easy these days. Anyway, oh yeah. I didn't mention that tombs aren't a part of the main game, who would have expect that coming from TOMB raider, lol. They're these hidden places that aren't much more than a few rooms in a cave that have a 2nd grade puzzle. They contain, well, a small amount of XP that Lara puts in her back pocket. Yep that's all, you don't even see the treasures hidden inside these treasure chests. Overall the game is fun and deserves a one time playthrough, but it has no re playability or lasting appeal like the first few games of the series. 7/10

7/10 seems like a pretty generous rating considering the review you just gave

I initially had it as a 6/10 but I thought that was a little too low since it is a good adventure game (Uncharted is still superior), I enjoyed it. I just expected it to have more puzzles and such. My personal rating would be lower because I expected the puzzles that Tomb Raider usually offers, plus there's not much emphasis put into the treasure from the rare tombs you do find. It's just experience points which you don't even need as there is enough to be had without getting any treasure from the tombs. My rating is judging the game as if it were called Storm Island and had Mack Gillenhall, a young adventurer going out to fulfill his fathers legacy and not Tomb Raider with Lara Croft.

Sounds like the same reason I gave up on Resident Evil. It just isn't the same. It seems like they shifted and made them into shoot'em up games instead of creating creepy atmospheres and puzzles you would spend hours on. The classic days of RE were the pre-rendered backgrounds. Just like the classic days of Tomb Raider were the random cliffs that you had no idea if you could jump to them or not so you had to just kind of go for it. You would die 100 times playing the game but beating it was the greatest feeling in the world.

Thanks for all the comments. I bought this game along with bioshock infinite the other day, but I haven't taken it out of the plastic yet. I think I will take it back and just rent it.

terribly boring - returning it tomorrow.

you get your hand held throughout the game, the story is unoriginal, and combat is annoying.

I really, really cannot stand this action trend of mashing one button 20 times to simulate a struggle then quickly having to hit another random button to win - or you die.

This garbage started with God of War and has since become the status quo with action games.

What happened to living or dying based on skill and mastery of the gameplay?? Any mouth breathing retard with a pulse can mash buttons...

Playing through this now. Ehhhh.

Its okay. Lara is wayyy more *****y and annoying than I was expecting. She is always whining about something. This game is really easy and as many have said above, they hold your hand the entire time. I will finish it just bc I'm OCD, but I would not buy it.
