Tom O'Brien talking trash

If he would have stayed u might have won the acc you dumbass. Justifying dumping a 9000 yd passer. No you couldn't get into unc.

Wow, no. You are wrong on so many levels. :stop:

First, he didn't get "dumped" as I previously explained. And even with Wilson last year, we wouldn't have won the ACC. Our defense was horrible, especially early on in the season. I'll remind you that at one point we had 5 of our top DLs injured. Last time I checked, RW doesn't play defense.

Also, the 2010 State team led by RW was better than the 2011 team even outside the QB position, and we still only went 5-3 in conference, good enough for 3rd place in our division.

And it's not like Glennon is a bum...

Wilson at NC State (3 seasons):
682/1180; 57.8%; 8,545 yds; 76 TDs; 26 INTs; 136.4-(average efficiency rating)

Glennon at NC State (1 season):
283/453; 62.5%; 3,054 yds; 31 TDs; 12 INTs; 136.4 efficiency rating

Oh, and I easily could have gone to UNC-CHeat if I had desired to.

don't be mean,he might make a pimple on a marines arse.

Not being mean, just the truth. Most military members have a mutual respect for one another... And then there are the Navy guys who trash Marines. Not to their face mind you. Over a message board where its safe :birgits_giggle: I Find it quiet humerous.

I was in the Navy and the closest I ever came to talking trash to Marines was on a battalion run and several Marines were falling out. I relished telling them what I thought of them if they were letting some "sorry squid" pass them. The Battalion Sargent Major happened to overhear me and very politely asked me what I was doing. I told him I was simply trying to motivate his Marines, fully expecting him to rip my spine out, but to my surprise all he said was "Oorah Doc!"

I loved the Marines I had the privilege to serve with. But then again Corpsman and Marines have a special relationship. I could get away saying things to them that other Navy guys would have been killed for.

In before cool story bruh.....

A lot of help RW would do our team this year while he's in the NFL...brilliant. Had RW stayed, Glennon would have transferred, and we would likely be starting a true freshman against your Vols Friday night. RW chose not to come back for football season, because he wanted to play baseball. Then when he changed his mind, it was too late, and we had already moved on. Maybe you should keep quiet about things you know little to nothing about.

If the majority of the nation thought that NC State will win this game, then Vegas would not have UT as a 3.5 point favorite. Heck, I was just on Yahoo Sports doing the College Football Pick'em, and the majority of votes for our game were on UT.
-------------------------------

And I've yet to see this "smack talk" from Tom O'brien. Sounds like you have a couple media clowns who are super sensitive and eager to be a victim...even if nothing has happened. Not the fans' fault though.

Well said Max. O'Brien was on Raleigh sports talk yesterday. The man was nothing but respectful of UT, our brand/tradition and Dooley.

As previously said, O'Brien doesn't talk
smack. He is a very dry serious coach.

True...but if you dont think there has been trash talking, going both ways, since the Marine corps was formed you are more dense than the bucket you wore on your head.

A. There's no such thing as a former marine.

B. O'Brien could have been referring to our winning tradition, rather than being sarcastic about how we've sucked the last few years. If I actually heard him say it, I'm thinking his intention would have been obvious.

come to think of it every marine i have ever known talks smack.

When I was in the Navy those poor SOB's would always talk smack at fleet week about how they could all out drink us sailors. They always fell short, usually passing out, in uniform, on the NYC subways.

Everyone else calls it arrogance, as Marines, we call it pride.

Navy guys dont call it arrogance or pride, we call it annoying.
Or in most cases little man syndrome.

He consistently talking about how great the Tennessee brand is and how great it is to play a program like ours.

This is what I took from it. I've heard numerous interviews with Obrien. In EVERY interview I've heard him do, he's just gushing about the Tennessee program and what an honor it is for his "Pack" to start against a program of this magnitude. He knows the deal. Some complain because we don't get the recognition we deserve as a big time program. Then when someone gives us our due, the same people flip it around and continue to b-tch and moan. That's my take on things.

Yeah I heard him on the Dave Glenn show yesterday too and on xm w/ jack arute. He didn't say anything derogatory about UT on either program. He was very complimentary towards Dooley and our program. That being said, I hope we kick State's ass.

Who is Tom O'Brien and why should we care about his opinion?
