I disagree. When every single member of the national media has the same opinion of your program 1) It says something that biased teneesee fans cant see 2) it sets the tone for how the nation sees your football program which 3) affects how recruits think about your program

Your right...I would be thrilled with an 8-4 season right now...Got to let it build itself and it will if CJH stays hard on the recruiting trail...I am willing to give him more time to make this happen and I am gaining confidence he will...I guess we all need to learn patience...I know its hard but dammit I wanna win again lol

I for one would have taken Ole Miss last season over our season - and their future looks pretty good with Kiffin and I think Ky beat us by about 30 at home so ..... he has a point, we need to get up to the Miss, Ky level first.

Alabama is currently at a level all their own. If fact Alabama is level 1, LSU and Georgia level 2, then everybody else.

Let's see....Tom Luginbill. He only had any success at a junior college, went 1-10 as a starter at Georgia Tech, and meandered around Arena football, the XFL, and in Europe. Got some work because of his dad. Yep, he is a real expert commentator and analyst. I would not put much stock in his opinions. Oh, and he works for ESPN now. Enough said.

To be fair, no team in college football history has been on a run like Alabama is on right now, and no team will likely ever achieve something like this again.

But yeah, to compare Tennessee to Ole Miss and Kentucky is absurd and beyond disrespectful.

Tom Luginbill said exactly what ESPN and SEC Netowrk programming and marketing wanted him to say.
The only way to change the narrative is change the situation. We have to knock out some heavyweights before they stop stepping on our throats.
This is up to us as a program.

We are just as big a deal as Alabama. Finebaum show been nothing but a Tennessee football show the last month no way ole miss or UK could get that coverage if if bad like ours

Luginbill is a hack, he knows nothing about Tennessee. Whenwe get to winning and back to the top they will move their attack to someone else. The media is full of themselves. GBO!!

The coach worshipers will not accept that. They think Saban or whoever was THEIR choice for HC could win the SEC in 2 years with our roster.

Heupel will build yet again a high powered fast paced video game like statistically aggressive score board racking up offense. Not one single “pundit” can argue that. He has consistently done that every where he’s had a headset on at. Our skilled players QBS/WRS/RBS/TES have to be as excited as little school girls watching his OSU, MIZZU, or UCF game tape.

Who he hires for the defensive side of the ball here is key. He knows this from being with Stoops at Oklahoma. He has to have a solid defense in the SEC. This is going to be key.

I don’t care what some buster on the SEC Network has to say. Heupel’s mindset sure ain’t going to be a third tier SEC team. OSU-MIZZU-UCF he has secured his skill as an offensive Jedi. He’s already out coached Kiffin twice...Orgeron sat on the ball for 45 minutes against him with the 12th ranked total defense in 2018 and he still put up 32 on him in 15 minutes. With all those 4-5* on that team for LSU.

I knew Dooley would fail. I was very skeptical of Butch. I knew Pruitt had zero chance but never thought he’d bribe recruits. My list of candidates went Freeze (as a dream), Campbell, Heupel, and Napier.

Y’all can hate him...I’m excited about his brand of football. Best of luck to the rest of you on suicide watch.

It’s not that bad. We did win 8 games a year ago.

But apparently we cheated our ass off to get 8 wins, so perhaps it is.

Fulmer’s been doing this for decades. How bad are we without a culture of exploiting impermissible benefits?

I think it depends on context. Short term? Yeah, that's a reasonable comparison. We've had so many transfer out, including our 2 best talents in Gray and To'o To'o. This situation is a mess. We need the Heup Man to establish a culture and get these kids bought in.

5+ years from now? We can get back to being a consistent top 20 team and compete for the SEC.
