I say....we're gonna miss the hell outta this guy. No matter who takes over, he's not going to be Hooker out of the gates. Gonna be some struggles and growing pains I suspect. Enjoy this kid while he's here.

I recall Bill Parcells from years ago at the helm of the NY Giants when he brought in Vinnie Testaverde at QB. Vinnie was always a mediocre player at best however, Parcells had a set offense, and just needed a QB. Vinnie excelled because of the situation he walked into, and perhaps, just perhaps, Coach Heupel's offense is going to succeed on almost all accounts with perhaps even average players. And am not saying Nico Suave or others are average but, they have a long way to go to be HH4H!

If I'm an owner the first thing I would look at is who throws the fewest INT's Case closed
Sorry thats flawed. Several systems the whole passing game relies 90% on bubble screens and 1 open read throw if not run. Also Ohio State qbs would always rank highly and they never turn out in NFL. Its easier to not throw picks when you are throwing in a system that gets superior players in wide open spaces. The same qbs in NFL will be asked to throw into tighter windows. Like it or not Hooker will be as much judged by Virginia Tech days as at Tennessee. No offense in NFL will expect themselves to get open receivers the way Heupel does. So Hooker will get a slap of system qb when the scouts go over his accomplishments in total not just at Tennessee. Believe me I hope he goes very early but 3rd round seems right. Usually the draft has some teams that need a qb and even though there aren't any great pro prospects they may over pursue and take one earlier than they should then the domino effect happens and the more taken off board other teams panic and follow suit and grab the best available. The point being if a run of qbs happens I could see Hooker being late 2nd round but likely 3rd if he finishes season on pace he is currently and healthy. Injury of any kind and 4th round seems plausible.

41-3 TD/INT ratio since coming to Tennessee and playing in the toughest conference in the country. If that doesn’t get you drafted high I don’t know what will

'He'll probably go in the 3rd round. However, I wouldn't trade him for anyone in the country. They are all system QBs for the most part, except the pure dropback guys, and we don't see those guys in our region anymore.

4th QB - In some order of Stroud/Young/Levis, then HH. I don't agree with the Levis love, but scouts etc seem to love him. System and age hurt HH. Age probably more than anything. He's only a year younger than Lamar, and he's about to get his 2nd contract.

I think he is about the 3rd best NFL prospect, I think he is the #1 college QB. Name me a QB that means more to his team than HH?

He is nearly an ideal college QB but this does not translate to the NFL. Heupel's system is nothing like what's played in the NFL. In this system, there's no reading the defense, no audibles and no going through your reads. It's look for one receiver...he's probably wide open...but if he's not, you tuck it and run. These aren't skills that translate well to the NFL. Good news for Vol fans is that our QBs would be well served to stay in school, especially with the NIL.

Hate ESPN for adding a + to their brand. Stupid is as stupid does, but HH4H getting attention
