todays practice

They're not stupid. They know it's not working the way it is. Change it up , shake it up and see if anything good comes of it.

On a side note: Kickoff coverage and punt coverage has gotten better. Nothing else about the kicking game has. Our kicker doesn't instill any confidence he can be relied on, that has to change or he'll be changed out for someone who does.

and the coaching staff (including himself). Up until now there has been way too much talk, and not enough action.

With the players:

All we heard in the preseason about O-Line pride, and O-Line chemistry, and the goal of getting Tauren 2000 yards, and ultimately we haven't seen squat from this bunch, blockers or runners.

Then we heard about how Rogers is going to break runs to the house on kick-offs and we haven't seen squat.

Then we heard how our kicking was going to be better because Palardy wasn't hurt this year, but we haven't seen squat.

With the coaches:

For a year and a half now, we've been hearing way to much about V-F-L, and not nearly enough about W-I-N (at least against teams with a pulse).

As for me, I'm sick of hearing crap anyway. I don't want to HEAR anything else. I want to SEE some wins against decent teams, and SEE something that looks like real progress.

One of the worst posts I've read in a while. Keep it up :good!:

Good to have a coach that expects every practice to be intense and not just go thru the motions.

Good for Dooley and the reporters should be thanking Dooley for cancelling his interview session. I would imagine he wouldn't have been in the mood for Heather Harrington type questions. "Um coach, do you think Justin Hunter will be back for this game?"

Sounds like he may have lost his team. A coach shouldn't be yelling at his players at all at this time of year. They have quit.

Whew. I can't do it. I was trying to sound as rah tarded as some of the posters on here since saturday, but I just can't go through with it.

FWIW, I agree 100% with what he said.

Shaping young men is fine, but when it comes down to it, winning is what counts.

Oh my god you people amaze me. Calm the **** down for a minute! We lost to a team we honestly should have lost too.

Just in case you forgot, Dooley got here when this place was more or less a giant **** hole as far as consistency goes. We won all the games we where suppose to last year and almost beat LSU, Bama and UNC in the bowl game.

Did you forget we lost 2 WRs and one hell of a tight end?

Did you forget about us losing Janzen Jackson (our best player!) a week before our first game?

Did you forget that one of only 2 play makers on the team this year just tore his ACL on the 4th play of the Florida game?

Maybe you didn't watch us play Oregon last year, where we gave up in the second half. Hopefully you watched us play Florida last Saturday and noticed a bunch of young men making their first trip to the Swamp down 30-7 and kept fighting for the Orange Pride without our best go to player.

Maybe we should just ditch the VFL program and go recruit some more players that will rob the Jiffy and punch cops. Sound good to you?

Get. A. Clue..

I'm done ranting for the day :hi:

Dooley says publicly that this is young team and I think privately he just let the team know that excuse has worn thin.

I agree with everything you said, believe it or not, but you are manufacturing an argument here. Winning is what counts, and if you really believe on Saturday this team didn't have the best shot to beat UF in the last 7 years then you are even more stupid than what I thought.

I understand Hunter was a big loss, but -7 yards rushing? Give me a effing break. Oline pride, rah rah rah, nonsense obviously doesn't work, but I guess what counts is everybody feels better about themselves, right? Please. I swear, some on here seem like they would be fine with the team continuing down the path of 8-4 seasons, as long as they feel good about themselves. Keep cheering on those moral victories about not giving up. I'm glad you find solace in that.

I have got a clue, and some fans are sick and tired of hearing "next year". Everything was in place for a UF win this year, and like always, the team couldn't establish a run and got destroyed in the kicking game. Memo to you....those aren't talent issues, those are coaching issues.

So you can take your rant and shove it. Moral victories and effort don't cut it. Dooley knows this, the UT admin knows this, and most fans know this.

Not only should we have lost to UF, but we lost by almost the exact point spread amount.

Does anyone think the next month is critical for the Dooley tenure at UT?

I think this is a big month for UT football.

And from the sounds of it, Dooley knows it too.

A coach being angry and making a statement to the team on the first practice of an off-week....

Pretty standard football coaching stuff folks. The team thought this week was gonna be easy due to the off-week, he let them know that was not going to be the case.

You're like the guy that gets a job making $50,000 per year and is shocked to find out that he still can't afford a Ferrari in the first two years of working. I know you get "tired of hearing about next year", but it is really what is required if you are expecting a good team. With a team that is still largely void of legitimate SEC talent in key areas, and lacking proper depth in key positions, there is not going to be a lot of domination until our young talent gains experience and we replace the non-SEC talent with legit SEC talent. Just sit back, take a valium, and try to enjoy the ride until we are good.

What did Chizik and Saban do in their second year?

I forget.

Just tired of excuses. Almost every word Hayezb post is laden with them. Good excuses or not, moral victories don't cut it.

There were a lot of positives. Bray had almost 300 yards passing and 3 TDs when everybody knew he was going to throw it. The defense showed signs of greatness, and our FR LB look like they are going to be great if they can stay in position.

The rushing totals and kicking game is inexcusable. You guys have fun making excuses and claiming moral victories.

Oh, thanks for that comparison...... again. If you aren't smart enough to realize subtle differences (like having full and experienced rosters with loads of legit SEC talent) in the states of the programs when those coaches took over, then you will continue to be utterly baffled during the next year or two.

....but...but...the cupboard wasn't bare, there was stability, Fulmer ran the team to the ground, yada, yada, yada...

You are about to hear alot more excuses. And the 09 UF games was a legit moral victory. It doesn't count as a loss. Hell this year they didn't give up, so it shouldn't count in the loss column either.

I agree with everything you said, believe it or not, but you are manufacturing an argument here. Winning is what counts, and if you really believe on Saturday this team didn't have the 1.) best shot to beat UF in the last 7 years then you are even more stupid than what I thought.

I understand Hunter was a big loss, but -7 yards rushing? Give me a effing break. 2.) Oline pride, rah rah rah, nonsense obviously doesn't work, but I guess what counts is everybody feels better about themselves, right? Please. I swear, some on here seem like they would be fine with the team continuing down the path of 8-4 seasons, as long as they feel good about themselves. 3.) I have got a clue, and some fans are sick and tired of hearing "next year". 4.) Everything was in place for a UF win this year, and like always, the team couldn't establish a run and got destroyed in the kicking game. Memo to you....those aren't talent issues, those are coaching issues.

So you can take your rant and shove it. Moral victories and effort don't cut it. Dooley knows this, the UT admin knows this, and most fans know this.

1.) Just because you have a "better" shot doesn't mean you are suppose to win. But you are dumber than I thought.

2.) It's pretty obvious our o-line has issues, and they will be the first one to admit it. And here they are trying to improve and you want to sit on a message board and talk **** about them trying.

How about you go suit up and block Florida's d-line. Or how about you go and coach them since you are so well qualified.

3.) I'm cheering on the improvement from last year to this year (31-17 compared to 33-23). Just because the run game sucked doesn't mean the team has not improved.

4.) If you honestly believe that, then you are indeed dumber than I thought.
