the attendance at today's game was horrendous IMHO only 102,482 i think is what i heard the tv announcers say. that is pathetic for a sold out football game. Hamilton is a douche if our max seating for a game is under 103,000 hamilton should be fired immediately. i am sorry but that is the way i feel. proud of the way our team fought today. simms though he seems to be very bad may have shown a slight improvement in the second half. Justin Hunter is All American he should be a starting reciever. Mark down a WIN for us against ALABAMA. i have said all year long and it will happen. besides alabama is only big upset we have an opportunity for. yes if we beat lsu and south carolina they are upsets but no where near as big as alabama.

GO VOLS!!!

This is the first time we have sold out a game in awhile. There is no reason for our stadium to be over 103,000.

yes there is reason for us to be over 103,000 i fear our stadium is no where near what it used to be as far as loudness and home field advantage. that and hamilton would rather have nice seats for stock brokers and the rich than make our stadium the loudest and most intimidating in the country. the 12th man has been taken away from us to cater to the rich. fire mike hamilton! GO VOLS!!!

Those tickets have brought in a lot of money. I have no problems with the renovations and decreased capacity.

That's pretty much capacity. We had over 100,000 in there and were into the game until people decided to leave. Not sure what game you watched.

First, MH doesn't give a flip whether stocker brokers are rich - his facility plan, signed off by the BOT, lowered seating capacity to create luxury seating for donors and their big bucks - that's what ADs do. Secondly, "stadiums" aren't loud - only the fans make the noise. Thirdly, no one took "the 12th man" away from us. The level of play on the field over the past 2-3 years has rarely inspired 100k+ fans to scream their lungs out.

Ah yes, the 2,000 seats we lost is a huge reason that Neyland isn't as intimidating anymore. :rolls eyes:

My apology - before I'm virtually raped and pillaged, it's "stock brokers", not "stocker brokers" - my bad.

They started counting standing room attendance towards the actual capacity this year, something they haven't done in past years.

I hate that we lost seats as well. I do hope an expansion plan is in the future, TBH.

They've been counting something since our "record attendance" is 109K+ and the actual seating capacity was only 104,079 at the time.

Yes, but back before this year, that 109,000 was over 100% of the capacity, and was counted as such. Kind of like Michigan's stadium holds 109,000, but they routinely sell into the 112-113K range.

The actual, non standing room capacity is around 100,000 even. The 102,000 number thrown out there by the AD office is the standing room capacity.

In other words, it's going to be rare to see over 100% of the stadium filled when you use the 2010 seating arrangement.
