Today's feelings in song lyrics

I'm going down to the fishing pond where I can throw my line
It don't matter what fish I catch I only wanna rest my mind
The only fish you get downtown ain't caught with a hook and sinker
Put on your brakes beep beep honk your horn look out
Now turn on your blinker
Gimme that country side of life
Which way I can stretch out right
Gimme the countryside oh
That country side of…

What this world needs is a few more rednecks
Some people ain't afraid to take a stand
What this world needs is a little more respect
For the Lord and the law and the workin' man
We could use a little peace and satisfaction
Some good people up front to take the lead
A little less talk and a little more action
And a few more rednecks is what we need
I was raised on beans and cornbread
And I like my chicken fried
Yes, I drive a pickup truck
And I'm full of American pride
I keep a Bible on my table
I got a flag out on my lawn
And I don't believe in mindin'
No one's business but my own

say those city boys living in those high rise condos
Only left you feeling low
Those little smoke glass fancy cars sure go fast
But never got you where you wanted to go
All I've ever owned is an old seat '72
Cuddled up, get you falling in love on the bench seat
Don't mind me, I'm just talking Tennessee
Girl, don't blame me if I slip and call you baby
That's just my way of letting the lady know she's working on me
There I go letting my south side show whiskey whispering on
Little sweet nothing southernisms, Jack and Seven sipping
Hoping that you're digging on me talking Tennessee
You say the street lights only ever let you see the skyline
It's been a long time
Since the Milky Way, Jupiter and Venus took your breath away
Yeah like you're taking mine
What you say we grab some tailgate underneath the stars
Catch a few fireflies in a moonshine jar......
Don't mind me, I'm just talkin Tennessee......

ask you, Lord why you enlightened me
Without the enlightenment of all my folks
He said, cuz I set myself on a quest for truth
And he was there to quench my thirst
But I am still thirsty
The Lord allowed me to drink some more
He said what I am searching for are
The answers to all which are in front of me
The ultimate truth started to get blurry
For some strange reason it had to be
It was all a dream about Tennessee

Windows down, country sound, FM on the radio
Just me and you and the man on the moon
Cruisin' down some old back road
Now baby don't you look at me that way
'Cause you know there's only so much I can take
'Cause you make me wanna
Pull this truck to the side of the road
Slide on over, let me hold you close and tell
You everything I'm thinking
Hop on out and let the tailgate fall
Get drunk on you with no alcohol
If you don't stop I'm gonna
Girl you make me wanna
Yeah
Hm hm
You know better than to wear that dress
It oughta be against the law, yeah
Plain and simple, girl them dimples
Know just how to turn me on
Now baby don't you look at me that way
'Cause you know there's only so much I can take
'Cause you make me wanna
Pull this truck to the side of the road
Slide on over, let me hold you close
And tell you everything I'm thinking

So I wake up to one of “those” emails.

I can't go on this way
Not as I am today
The ugly side of me is strong
Take aim, a loaded gun.
Pull back on all who run.
A coward's truth inside the wrong.
This means war

Lash your tongue of bane
Carry me to nowhere
Mental holocaust
Battle never ends
Lie! Mask the pain
Of a child who's forsaken
Lie! To myself
Praise the new regime
I left me long ago
Reasons you'll never know
No one to miss me when I'm gone
With no more words to say
No argument to stay.
Another post I don't belong
This means war

I ran into Charlie's Ford
He blacked my eye and kicked my dog
My doggie turned to me and said
Let's head back to Tennessee Jed

All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

You're out of the woods,
You're out of the dark, you're our of the night,
Step into the sun, step into the light.
Keep straight ahead for the most
Glorious place on the face of the earth or the
Sky.
Hold onto your breath, hold onto your heart, hold onto your hope,
March up to that gate and bid it open.

My whole view of the world has changed
I guess that comes with age
I don't believe there is good in every man
Like I did back then
And I may drink more than I should
You've seen me on the floor
I've spent my lifetime in this cage I've built around me
Bangin' on the doors

Cody Jinks - no words
Feel like this pretty much every day. This could be my mantra.

I can laugh
When things ain't funny
(a haha) Happy go lucky me

Yes, I can smile
When i ain't got no money
(a haha) Happy go lucky me

It may sound silly but
Mmm, I don't care
I got the moonlight
I got the sun
I've got the stars above

Me and my filly well, we both share
This slappy go happy, happy go lucky looovve

Well! Life is sweet ..Whooa sweet as honey
(a haha) happy go lucky me

Then I go to my brother
And I say, brother, help me please
But he winds up, knockin' me
Back down on my knees

Oh, there been times that I thought
I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able, to carry on

It's been a long
A long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh, yes it will

My daddy spent his life lookin' up at the sky
He'd cuss kick the dust, sayin' son it's way to dry
It clouds up in the city, the weather man complains
But where I come from, rain is a good thing

Give me a tin roof
A front porch and a gravel road
And that's home to me
It feels like home to me
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks

Oddly enough, I thought about this song a lot as I followed Joe's adventure this week. None of you will like it, but I do.
Wander off through dead of night
Past wastelands of shattered souls
Warm by the firelight
I peer into the darkness alone

As the indian summer of my remembrance
Settles on my bones
Cracked and weary, I ask for direction home

Home, let the word spill from my mouth
Love, love is everything I want
I, one of many more to come
Love, love is everything I want

Crossroads outside of town
Where heartbroken faces shine
The city lights so far and dull
Turning left I know it's time

With an urgent wind upon my rolling heels
To carry me along
My face downcast, I turn to ruins past and home

Home, let the word spill from my mouth
Love, love is everything I want
I, one of many more to come
Love, love is everything I want

Wander off through dead of night
Past terrors and broken homes
Wipe the sleep from your eyes
In the riverbanks and catacombs
Seek the truth, and be the truth
I must live this life alone
Lay down and think of loss
Cry out, I know it's time
