Well, there's no press conference now and the state legislature is moving to block the hire if it comes to that. I'd say momentum has shifted toward spiking this hire.

Now on to firing Currie, after this fiasco he must be fired and we all need to stand together and demand he be fired:gun:

This is an example of how conspiracy theories are lapped up by ignorant people. Schiano, who did absolutely nothing wrong, is suddenly "repugnant"--as much to blame as Sandusky himself, apparently. The hiring of Schiano is fine; the irrational reaction by the pixilated morality police is what's truly embarrassing.
Sandusky is in jail for 30 years for what he did. For not reporting it to police (which could have saved many others from being raped), Schiano just won’t get a head coaching job.

Last I checked, Schiano has done absolutely nothing wrong. If he had done something wrong, he wouldn't be working at Ohio State, would he? So all of this outrage over Schiano is utter stupidity--the southern morality police in action, same people who like sending money to evangelical con men. You can't make it up.

Most all of VN objects to hiring Schiano, that's enough for me.......fire Currie Now!

I’ve noticed posts and tweets declaring victory or whatever, but this isn’t a win that should be celebrated.

What it is- is a tragedy that it took fans lashing out to get the attention of the powers that be.

It’s sad that this is going to set our program back and we aren’t going to be able to throw money around and fix this problem.

It’s Currie and Haslam’s fault, but it’s not a victory. There will be no quick fix and Dan Wolken is right in that this is going to hurt our program, regardless of whether we were right.

I agree, the way we stood against this shows that we have a voice. We already have a bad football team, but to smear the University's integrity is something that I won't stand for. I will not support a University that can hire someone that turns a blind eye to something like what was going on at Penn State.

Great thread and post. Salute to everyone. Currie must be fired. Let's again use the power of social media and our legislators to get this done.

Did 2015 come before 2016?

Pleae stop being a retard and read a timeline on this entire affair. You apologists who refuse to take the time to read a few facts are looking more and more foollsh.

Sir/ma'am, I'm terribly sorry if our "southern" morality and Christian faith triggers you. I will pray that you will one day vanquish your skepticisms and let the Glory of God into your heart. ❤️🙏

You morons can only look at the surface. One, he's not guilty of anything, all your doing is reading keywords then letting your imaginations do the rest. Two, his record as HC is not the full story, he's a badass coach, you people are just too lazy or too stupid to know it.

When OSU hired Schiano as DC... the testimony in the Penn State molestation case was still sealed. OSU brass had no way of knowing about Schiano being implicated. Of course, he passed their vetting, at that time.

Had the testimony not been sealed, Schiano MAY never have been coaching in college, ANYWHERE.

He probably wouldn't have been coaching in the NFL, either. It would have been difficult enough for him to land an assistant position in the NFL after his dust up in Tampa.

This guy was wrong for UT, from the jump. It is shocking that UT even considered him. It is just as shocking that some in the media and this board defend him.

The problem at UT, since at least Doug Dickey retired, has been the big money boosters. The fans have upset their apple-cart, this time.

Congrats to Vol fans and... more power to you. Vol football probably can't lure a top-tier, slam dunk coach, now. That is UT admin fault... not yours/ours.

We may never have had a chance at seeing Jon Gruden lead the team through the T... but we don't have to sit idly by and support the hiring of a sh!tbird to represent the team and state we love.

Make no mistake... the relationship between the fans and the Big Orange is a love thing. Vol fans proved their side of the love affair is pure.

I'm VERY proud of our loyal fans!!!

Those that took to social media and those that made their signs and went to Neyland to make their voices and opinions heard above all the other garbage make the rest of us understand than from now on ALL of us should join you and get even louder.

Now we need to get the petitions going to fire both Currie and Davenport and to remove the Haslems from any position of power at Tennessee.

If the Pilot/Flying J owners want to support Tennessee sports then write the check and be done.

UT footVol has become a joke just like the Cleveland Browns and we do NOT want that family having any power or any say at all about anything at Tennessee.

Write the check and let your donations speak for you.

Keep up the great work everyone!

VFL...GBO!!!

Very proud of what coronation did yesterday, however, because of the slime balls in the ad office, I fear this set us back decades. Living in ohio, I see the pain on Cleveland browns fans faces. I fear we are the browns of the SEC and this is now a similar struggle for us fans. As much as we like to think tn is an attractive job, it's not anymore. It's become one of the laughing stocks of football and we will be reduced to getting Butch Jones type candidates for coach for a very long time

Either way he sucks as a coach and his record is proven thise are facts you cant dispute....hes an ass and it's well documented as well. Fact is this school deserves better. Haslam has run this into the ground and many reports discuss this some people bury their head in sand ...

We need to show UTAD...we are Tennessee. Our money also counts. Before a smartA says how much do you give...GTFO. I give what I can. I love Tennessee and the university. I am proud of not taking this crap. GBO or GTFO!

Listening to sports radio in Columbus today... obviously they are defending Schiano and ripping Tennessee.

Then they bring on "Mark" a Tennessee fan. I was dreading listening thinking they found some yokel to make Tennessee look bad. He threw down the gauntlet. Pretty much left them without a legitimate response, the only thing one of them could say is that Peyton should be banned from UT too then. They of course cut to break before Mark could question how they can even try to compare the Penn State Pedophelia case to Peyton manning mooning someone.

If you're a VN member, Props on the call, Mark. Way to represent
