A lot of differences, but the way he is so fundamentally sound, smooth, and doesn't have a flashy game (but still is great) is eerily similar to Tim. Let's just hope he doesn't start whining to the officials every time a foul is called on him.

he riminds me of a former vol great dale ellis. kind of even looks like him some. he can shoot the three and got a smooth inside game like dale did. course dale turned out to be a heck of a 3 point shooter in the nba.

Um, no. Duncan might be the greatest defensive PF of all-time, has one of the greatest post games ever, and is an excellent passer.

maybe he meant he might be another tim duncan some day. tobias will only get better. he makes things look so easy.

I do like how Harris uses the backboard a lot around the rim. Thats about as close of a comparison as I see between the two. Harris doesn't really post up all that much. He plays with his face to the basket so I would agree with what hat said in his post about Wes Johnson except Johnson may be a little quicker with the ball.

He's just like Tim, except he's shorter and his game is different.

I think he meant that they are both black so therefore they're the same.

So you're saying they aren't similar? :loco:

I don't really see the comparison, but I think TH could be one of the Vol greats, and his outside shooting with that height and inside touch will make him some money in the bigs one day.

Sigh.. I guess it's hard to understand I'm making a comparison in their fundamentals, non-flashy game, and how they are smooth and make everything look easy. Sorry I didn't bold the comparisons of the two.

YouTube - Tim Duncan clutch 3ptr in OT - Spurs 117 Suns 115 2OT (HD) :)

Tobias Harris is more of a Carmelo Anthony type player in skill, he has finesse, skill, scoring ability, rebounding ability, passing ability, a post up game, can nearly play 4 positions.

He actually said that he modeled his game after 'Melo in an interview, but I can't find it right now.

I agree he's more like Melo than Duncan. It would be awesome if Tobias had a mid-range jumper like Melo....maybe he does, but we haven't seen it yet because Tobias keeps taking it to the hole.

I definitely can see Melo in some of his game, but I think he is very similar to David West out at New Orleans with his versatility with the jumper and post game.

I agree. Definetly different styles of play, but both are fundamentally sound, not flashy, very hard workers, and very good players. They may not be the most athletic players on the court but they are often the best players on the court.

As a Spurs fan... I can see the fundamentally sound aspects of their games being similar. Their overall style of play, not so much.
