I've followed the Vols before there was the Gators or Georgia. Before the season even started the 3rd Saturday in October was already circled! LOSE..WANT TO LOSE...TO BAMA!! The mention of such pharse is blasphemy in Volnation...get a rope!!! :realmad:

only time ive cheered for bama is when they played florida one yr.i hate gators more.

Other day I was in gamestop and a guy had a bama shirt on,and I asked if he was a bama fan.He said no he was a Vol fan and it was his friends shirt.

I told him thats like being american and saying you like osama.

I said im sure if you needed a shirt your friend would have more than bama ones.

was listening to espn radio in knoxville on the interwebs and he read an email from a vol fan saying he's pulling for bama cause he wants fulmer gone and i almost puked up my turkey sandwich. i just don't know how you can say your a vol fan and you root for bama.

No real Vol fan would ever say that. Probably some young punk that wears a Duke hat during basketball season.

By the way, I'm not saying that I am pulling for Bama to beat the Vols. What I am saying, is that I get sick of people who think they have the right to say who is and who is not a real fan. The Tennessee basketball program is a whole lot better off today because of the last year that Buzz Peterson had. If he would have won 5 or 6 more games, we probably would not have Bruce Pearl. So, the program is probably better off because of that. I would not label a fan as a "non fan" if they had the foresight to see that a loss here and there would benefit the progrm in the long run.

I don't think that down deep any Vol fan really wants the team to lose anything but the head coach. Frustration leads to desperation and that is where the ones saying they want us to lose are coming from. In a screwy kind of way, they are looking for the greater good for the team in the long haul. Think about it, the Vols beat Bama and win out. Fulmer stays. Next year we can all meet here again and bitch about the same thing all over again.
While I certainly would enjoy a victory over Bama, I can understand where the other side is coming from.
