Tennessee needs better Quarterback play.

There is no doubt that QB play has been better the past year and a half, and the young O-Line has sort of hampered the offensive efficiency at times. The accuracy of Dobbs, however has left plays on the field.

Can Dobbs get better? It is nice to have a running threat, but it is more important to complete passes down the field. This would make our running game even better, and would give Dobbs more opportunities to run the ball.

The thing that bothers me the most about Dobbs is the fact that I remember reading all Spring/Summer about how much better he looked throwing the football.

He needs to progress tremendously in the off-season for us to be a true championship contender.

I will take our offense as long as we get more consistent and get the killer instinct. We need a better secondary. We have nobody that can cover on a regular basis.

Pass defense is a weak spot but overall on defense giving up 5+ yards per play probably isn't good enough.

Statistically we are in the ball park with Bama offensively. Our special teams are better. Defensively is where we have a ways to go still. Of course we suffered some big injuries on the defensive side...still, if we lose Sutton, I think pass defense could be bad again.

Hopefully better D Line play makes the secondary look great. We get all the current D Line healthy and stronger, next year should allow QBs a lot less time.

you put FL's Defense and TN's offense together, and you have a contender right now.

I think I have said this before, Josh Dobbs major only allows him to be a good QB but not an elite one. His time to really dig into fixing the issues with his feet can only be fixed with reps, however watching the WR come alive when Dormady is in the game should tell a story who the WR trust.

But I'm not kicking JD for his major, he's been a good QB manager for us.

Watching the receivers come alive for all of the 18 passes Dormady threw....WOW...just WOW!!!:loco: Josh Dobbs is 12-5 as the starter for the last 2 years....How many games has Dormady won for us?

Hmmm... one of the most unfounded posts in quite some time. There is absolutely no real data to support your position.

Vols need a much better defense to compete for championships, starting with much better play from the secondary (secondary cost 3 or more games)

I wouldn't say MUCH better. We're championship caliber this year, just had some bad breaks.

To win an SEC championship, Tennessee will have to beat Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. Butch is 1-8 against those teams. But what the heck, let's give him a raise and another extension.
