To those who said Poole was soft...

No one. However, he obviously turned it up a few times today indicating that complaints were warranted.

Not soft. Blind, slow and inconsistent though lol. I'm glad he could get it going

Today just showed why Poole is the starter and it's not close. I know alot of people like the idea of the young guy always being better, but Lane is not ready to be the man. Our OLine still needs alot of work when it comes to being good run blockers. Cal Poly rushed for almost 250 yards on Montana today. I hope the staff lights a fire under the big guys before we get to Gainesville.

I think he has finally learned its ok to run outside and he doesnt have to always try and run through the pile!

Poole was frustrating early on...but he turned it up after the OL stopped letting UC's DL's hit him while taking the handoff.

FYP

FWIW, THe OL needs to be much more aggressive on a consistent basis run blocking and stick with their blocks. They didn't give Lane much to work with at all. UT has good RB's. They'll be great if the OL keeps getting better... but they need to take a big step forward this week.

A lot of people on here said he was soft. Especially the guy that started the Marlin Lane should be our starter thread.

Gotta agree, seemed like poole got the hint, that you dont have to run into the back of your blockers after halftime. He darted outside a couple of times and found running room

You do realize that we ran only 6 different running plays against Montana. 3 plays actually but to both sides.

To be fair, Poole himself admitted that last week was not his best showing.

And I agree, but people claimed that all of last season he was going down easily which is patently false. Guy runs hard, it may be his best attribute.

I don't care if we stopped the game and told Montana what we were running. Our SEC OLine should just get the job done vs subpar teams. If Cal Poly can run it at will vs the Grizzlies, there is no reason we should not have been able to. It was a little better this week, but still not mauling people like we should be.

He does run hard. The fact remains that Poole is just never going to be a dynamic RB. He's serviceable and does most of the things you want a RB to do, but nothing really great.

Alot of people said the same things about Arian Foster. Much like Arian, I look for Poole to be playing on Sundays come this time next year.
