To those that sit behind me in Neyland:

Standing the whole game is pointless. Anyone not standing and/or yelling on defensive series, and telling others to sit down on said defensive series, is just as big of a douche, as someone who would stand the whole game.

I ask this in all seriousness: should Neyland have an all standing section(s) and an all sitting section(s)?

I think they should. I've been in a few sections around the twenty or thirty jumbotron and home side of the field that stood the whole game and I loved it. The people who make the most noise, the students, stand, and I think if more people did the place would be louder. Have your pussary sections for people like sparty, but for those that want to stand but don't just to be polite, give them that option.

Sounds silly to me. Why would you buy a seat and stand the whole game? That makes you more of a fan?

Yes! In enables you to make noise more productively!
I always stand on Every D possoseion and yell.
On offense i sit down and shut up because our no huddle offense is a work of art.

2009 UGA game: Me and my Georgia buddy are standing a majority of the game. Some 70 year old fan 5 rows back demanded me to sit down or he'll go get the usher. I said sorry but I'm not going to. If they make me leave because I'm standing they better make the other 50,000 people standing leave too. If you cant see then stand up. (Of course I do sit down during the TO's, quarters, "point"less offensive drives...)

Nice 1st post. Way to show respect, be glad he didn't whip you just for general purposes.

Let me guess, the op has a flat top and carries his cell phone in a hip case?

Hey now, I have a flat top but not the cell phone hip case. Haha As far as the standing or sitting. I try to be considerate to those around me as we all should

Anybody who wants to stand should have the right to stand. Just ask the person hollerin' for you to sit to switch seats.

I haven't had seats outside of the student section for several years. It's going to be hard for me to sit at my first few games this year.

I was in Atlanta and I think our whole lower bowl stood up for the majority of the game. I do think when people stand it creates an energetic atmosphere. People are jumping, screaming, singing ect.. I do think people should be courteous of other Vol fans So they can enjoy the game. I like the idea of a standing section. It should be in front of the visitor section!

When I took my small boys to their first game I was concerned about their not being able to see, because of the standing. So far, we haven't had a problem because most fans are considerate. When people stand my boys either stand in their seats or watch the jumbotron. You can't ruin their fun.

Stand as long as you want, but don't get pissed when you sit in the nachos my 9 year old accidently placed in your seat because he thought you left.

One thing on my bucket list is to sit in the student section for a home game against Bama.

It's pretty awesome. Would have been better with a win. Best Student section experience I've had was probably Georgia the last time we beat them at home. That place was electric and I was right behind our bench (before they switched sides) in the 4th row. I don't remember the last time I had a voice after a game either.

One thing I never understand: people that insist on sitting when it's raining or cold. Both are a lot easier to handle in a stadium if you're standing up.

I was at the Bama/TN game in 1987 in Birmingham, in the UT section about 20 rows up, and watched a Bama fan necked out in full Bama Sweat Pants and Hoodie (soooo redneck), stand on the brick wall at the base of Legion Field...screaming **** TENNESSEE!! Over and over and over again. Finally, some TN fan came out of nowhere and cold konked him...and I mean hammered him. He fell backwards onto the concrete fringe between the wall and the track, and DID NOT move. The medics rushed over in a John Deere Gator and rushed the dude off to wherever they take emergency patients. He never moved.

I swear he looked dead.

Alabama was ahead like 41-22 at tht time and we were ranked in the top ten. Bad day for us, but a worse day for that Bama cat.
