To those saying Lamonte gave upon the team...

I saw this quote. I very much appreciate the effort, but it does seem he sometimes kept the coaches out of the loop when he shouldn’t have been

I’m sure Lamonte gave it all he had but shouldn’t the coaches be aware and coach around such an obvious serious injury?

So he was a young man who wanted to live up to the expectations and image everyone had of him, to say nothing of his own expectations for himself, and would do anything he could think of to solve it on his own. That is one of the most understandable and human experiences I can think of. Who hasn't carried a burden in silence, for the sake of someone else's belief in them? It happens every day. We all carry some of these things. Sometimes it's a mistake. Sometimes it isn't. That's life. I can't see why anyone would doubt that -- or doubt Turner.

Could he have redshirted if he woulda had the surgery pre season and sat out all year? That woulda been awesome to have a healthy Turner next year.

Never owned a twitter account in my lifetime.

Still don’t regret not getting one.

The only negative I recall was some saying LT wasn’t supporting the team when he wasn’t spotted on the bench after his surgery. Anybody who claimed LT quit before he was physically unable to go hadn’t observed LT’s competitive drive the prior 3 seasons

I always said I’d never have one... I got one for a contest that I think ironically Tennessee was having... I haven’t been back since 😂

He red shirted his first year on campus IIRC.

He did. That was yet another FAIL by the NCAA. He had to burn his redshirt after enrolling at TN because they had a problem with his admissions qualification. Ridiculous that his 5-year clock couldn't have just been delayed until after they were satisfied with all of it.
