To the Worley Worshippers

Fuad Reviz said it best in post game show:
"Justin Worley gives us the best chance to win right now". Period. The end

It's true, but only because the coaches decided from day one of spring practice that Worley was the starter. QBs improve by taking reps with the guys they will be on the field with. Peterman apparently got only a handful of first team snaps and Dobbs got none. This is why Worley is playing with more confidence, and therefore better than last year; but his numbers are almost identical to last year, i.e. mediocre. The line DOES make way to many mistakes, but Worley does too.

And, since I keep hearing the "Dobbs is third string so he must be lousy" argument, I'll say: coaches sometimes make mistakes. They have odd biases and pet peeves and, especially at quarterback they don't always play the best guy. Some of them lean toward seniority. Some of them are always looking to stick the young guy in. Some will always go with the guy with the bigger arm. Some always go with the mobile guy. And some seem to use a Ouija board, lots, coin toss or some such.

I'm ashamed...isn't anyone else embarrassed by the fact that our nosetackle clearly intentionally tried to cheat by interfering with the snap in the final seconds? I can only hope that for our integrity that this was not instructed by the coaches with hope they would not get caught. This is the dirtiest stunt i can ever remember a vol player pulling. Am i alone here...

Yes, you're alone here.

Step back from the ledge, OP. Worley is the least of our worries. More concerned about who is under center next season.

Blame Worley? OP you got to be kidding.

O line letting every defender loose on who ever the QB is is the problem. Play calling was suspect at times but we got a bunch of young, weak, freshmen getting killed and every other position pays for their mistakes.

His two INT were not the O lines fault. When he fumbled the defender barely touched him and it was not on his blind side

I saw enough of Dobbs last year. And like someone already said, he's had 18 months to take the starting job. He is third string. I believe CBJ is playing the QB that gives us the best chance to win in this instance.
I don't think any of our current QBs will be the starter next year.

He had more yards and points vs Alabama last year than Worley

Worley is not a option read QB. (hasnt kept the Ball on option in 3 games) Worley cannot get enough time to throw deep. Even the UTC defensive coordinator s licking his chops. Burn Dobbs red shirt. Let's go with a 2 QB system.

Worley and his 10 second reads are partly to blame. Also I think we probably use half a play book so its easier to figure out what we are doing. And o line can't block for more then 2 seconds.mixed with our all sec Wr disappearing is y our offense is awful.

He's the only player on UT's O consistently playing SEC caliber football. Only the truly ignorant think he's the place to start with this O.

Just what do you guys think Dobbs will do better than Worley? Have you forgotten how lame he was last year? He couldn't throw or run and that was behind a legitimate Oline.

See the post below yours. UF only needed 4 and sometimes 3 to get pressure. Often that was even with UT keeping extra guys in to block. You do the math... that leaves how many in the secondary covering how many?

The problems with the O start... and end with the OL.

A team rushes 3 most of the day and gets 7 sacks....and you want to blame the qb?......brilliant
2 critical interceptions....not rushed
1 critical fumble....saw blitzer, didnt throw ball away.
1 intentional grounding
Nope will not blame the senior QB.

You might want to go back and take another look at the video. He was definitely under heavy pressure on the first one.
1 critical fumble....saw blitzer, didnt throw ball away.
That's plain stupid.
1 intentional grounding
That play had virtually no bearing on the game... and he had a receiver in the area.
Nope will not blame the senior QB.

When the OL stops playing matador... then you can blame someone else. UT will likely come out of this weekend last in sacks allowed... in the whole country. They're last in the SEC by a very wide margin. They're one of the worst in rushing O.

There are improvements that could be made by Worley, the RB's, and the receivers. But the pink elephant in the room is the OL.

I want to win as much as anyone. But more important is teaching these young men how to be real men, to have good relationships, to be glad they came to UT, to be good citizens, etc.

Sure did...it wasn't a blindside blitz. Falling down would have been a 2nd option for the SR QB.
Worley is our best bet to succeed but...he was a no show at times today.

You actually think he saw him ...... Stood there and allowed him to blast him and knock the ball loose? Lol!!! I don't know whether to laugh in your face or feel sorry for you

People blaming our O-line and not Worley need to realize that is PRECISELY the reason we need some mobility at QB. From time to time, it would be better to switch them out. Worley is a decent QB, but he does not fit into a system that, in order to work to it's fullest effect, needs a running threat at the position.

Don't feel sorry for me....I have Peripheral vision. On that play Worley did not have peripheral vision a SR QB needs. Peripheral vision loss is the loss of your ability to see things to the side or up and down from your central vision (the line of sight directly in front of you).
A QB with tunnel vision is not something you should laugh about.

He was focused downfield. You act as if he's the only QB to ever have that happen. It happens every week at EVERY level of football including the NFL. You're just being ignorant and trying to find an "easy" scapegoat. Worley isn't the big problem on this O and only an abject idiot would think that he is. UT NEEDS AN OL. After that... then maybe we'll see Worley isn't the guy or whatever. But until the OL play is decent it obscures everything else. Nothing else really has a chance to work.

It would have been great to win by cheating? Have we really dropped that low? No, not our Vols...not my team... i would rather take a loss and hold my head high. We should be outraged!
You, Sir, are a Clown. Go back to your Mommy, and cry to her about being "outraged". SMH, what a big sissy. I bet when you were a kid, you got beat up in school and got your lunch money taken away from you. :geek:

They aren't getting a free full ride to be "good citizens". Its up to their parents to teach them all that obviously. If they are in college and need to be taught by someone on campus how to "have a good relationship" something is horribly wrong.
