Sitting at Starbucks, on the corner of 24th and San Antonio, I noticed a particularly odd situation.Two Austin Police Officers standing outside the Castilian just lingering. Every time I looked back there was a different student holding a carbon copy of what looked to be a jay walking citation. Suddenly one of the cops shouts at an innocent girl jogging with her headphones on through West Campus. He wobbled after her and grabbed her by the arm. Startled and not knowing it was a cop, she jerked her arm away. The cop viewed this as resisting arrest and proceeded to grab both arms tightly, placing her in handcuffs. She repeatedly pleaded with them saying that she was just exercising and to let her go. She repeatedly cried out, “I did not do anything wrong…just give me the ticket.” The other officer strolled over and not they where making a scene. She tried to get up. I doubt she was running away, as she was in handcuffs, but the second cop pushed her back down to the ground. Because of the commotion, they walked her to the cop car in the alleyway next to the Big Bite, where she, overcome with frustration, yelled loudly to gain attention. Because of that, the cops tightened their grip causing her to squirm and kick. Then came two bike cops from down the alley. Now we have four cops and one small, helpless girl in the back of a cop car, because she was just going for a run.

Big Bite is awesome by the way. They have a sandwich stuffed with fried chicken tenders, french fries, mozzarella sticks, gyro meat, and steak bits.

So worth the gnarly BM that is almost sure to follow.

Johnny law just removed another dangerous criminal from the street, they should be applauded.

Here is a question I have:

In order to become a cop, you have to go through police academy, which requires one to be somewhat physically fit. How in the hell do police departments manage to have fat, disgusting slobs as cops? Maybe if they did actual police work instead of sitting in a car 8 hours a day waiting for a speeder to come by, they wouldn't weigh 300 lbs.

In Chattanooga now they don't have to be parked or even stop you or get out of the car!

Chattanooga drivers: you can now get speeding tickets without ever being pulled over
CHATTANOOGA, TN (Times Free Press) -

Hamilton County Sheriff Deputies can now clock drivers and send them tickets, without ever getting out of their cars.

Commissioners today passed a resolution allowing Sheriff Jim Hammond to contract with a company called Applied Technology Partners. The company will give the sheriff's office two camera-equipped speed detection lasers that will allow officers to take videos of drivers who are speeding. The officers will then upload that video to the company, which will then mail a $50 civil ticket to the person to whom the vehicle is registered.

The commission was split on the issue, but it ultimately passed 5-4.

Yes, your answer to my question just made so much sense.

So you are saying crime prevention should be a task cops are tasked with? Okay. Is it a crime to go faster than the speed limits? Run red lights? Not yield to school buses as they unload?

So just because it was "domestic abuse", the assumption is that the man is the instigator. And really? Not showing his I.D. lead to him dying?
