Well first off, if we're being honest, it's not like I've got women just throwing themselves at me. I've never really much trouble getting laid but also generally had to some effort into making it happen. I've only had just fall into lap a couple of times and, not to sound like a p****, generally found to be far less enjoyable in those instances.

Secondly, I'm a math guy and think of everything in numbers. I look at almost all decisions by their risk/reward ratio. Basically, how much is this worth to me compared to what it cost (or potentially could)?

I'm fairly certain my wife would leave me if I cheated on her and got caught. My kids are hands down my 3 favorite people and basically my life at this point and my wife is an extremely close 4th. So cheating has the potential to completely destroy my family. Best I could hope for is having my kids half the time and would have my wife none of the time. She's also from Northern California. I don't think she would move back, as she's created a life here, but her mom and sisters are there so couldn't promise you she wouldn't. All that means is that, as I'm not gonna live 2k miles away from my kids, I'd have to move to Northern California too. Which I really don't want to do.

Looking at all that and even a dumby could see that cheating has a horrible risk/reward ratio. It kinda makes monogamy a lot easier.

I saw this study a while back, I really wish I could remember where cause I wanted to show it to my mom the other day and couldn't find it. On a side note I doubt she'll ever completely let go of statism, but I've definitely opened her eyes to the idea of liberty and she's definitely changed her thinking about a lot of stuff.

Either way... They did a study in 2010 on how government regulations effect the cost of products. They used a 2007 Ford Taurus. They took out all the regulations, all the licenses of all companies involved in its manufacture, all taxes taken each time a part changed hands, ect... You get the point.

A 2007 Taurus retailed for about $21k brand new back then. If you remove all the tentacles the government has on everything, every step of the way they estimated it would retail between $5-7k.

I think it's realistic. I'm sure every one of us has lost a friend or family member to drug addiction. Aka junkies.

I can think of 3 in my family alone

It really is insane to think of all the crap the average "law abiding, tax paying citizen" puts up with. Then, to further the insanity, if you question the morality of government, they simply blows kisses to the ones with the boot on their necks.
There is a thread here about the bush tax cuts, and if they did any good or not. Haha my ideal tax cut would be the entire tax code.

Have you ever read Karl Hess? He was a long time friend of Murray Rothbard.
This is an incredible essay he published in playboy magazine back in 1969. Just goes to show you, some things never change.
