Okay...lol......the city park.

Let's observe this, the city park. That implies public property, in my mind that doesn't exist.
Now, if said bomb didn't go off, who would ever know? It's the same with the mall, the coffee shop, even your favorite grocery store.

I know, we can hire 3 million more cops and implement 1 million new laws. That will make us safe huh?

I don't think we would know if a law saved lives or not.

I guess I see how this is going to go. You are going to evade the obvious. Not a problem.

I will ignore your second paragraph because that doesn't really pertain to our discussion.

How am I evading?

In the mall scenario, if the bombers called in a threat and the public would become aware, he would lose business. That is injury.
But, if the bomb didn't go off, and there was no call in threat, I suppose there were no victims. No one would ever find out, until someone stumbled upon the bomb. So.... Technically no crime.

I never mentioned calling in the threat.

So you are suggesting that if the Boston Marathon bombers had failed in their attempt by the bomb not going off they should just walk? That seems like a good plan.

What I'm saying is who would've ever known? The bomb didn't go off.

Perhaps a person walking by found the mysterious bag...come on I don't have to hold your hand on this.

I'm guessing since they failed on the first go-around then they will just give up and not try again. If not, I guess we should wait till they kill hundreds to thousands of people then throw them in jail for the rest of their lives.

Ok, how do we prevent that? How do we prevent madmen from harming the greatest amount of people possible? The honest answer is, you can't, at least you can't and leave your liberty intact.

You are changing the discussion, which we can if you would like. My sole point in this discussion to provide you with an example of things I feel people should be charged and punished when there was no clear victim by your definition.

I agree we can't protect everyone from everything.

Ok, let me rephrase my ideal scenario of how law might work, so that you may understand where I am coming from.

The only limitation of your rights, is the equal rights of others.

Dude, no grown man has any business listening to that music.

Do me (and yourself) a huge favor and play "Weird Fishes/Arpeggio" by Radiohead right now. You'll see where I'm coming from.

Did you read my other post....I took my daughter who has absence seizures and made the honor roll....I wouldn't know who R5 was if not for her....I like a varying array of music but no Disney.
