To Protect and to Serve...

They need to stop acting like idiots and maybe bad things would stop happening.

My brothers a cop. He even thinks these incidents are reprehensible. I have no problem with cops arresting these folks. I do have a problem with cops shooting people in the back, people dying in their custody while using force that has been outlawed, people requesting medical attention and then dying in their custody etc etc. Protect and serve includes those being arrested.

The point that she kicked him acting like an idiot gets lost in all this. Anyone on the cop hating side of the fence just will not admit that's what caused it.

Just to make sure everything is clear to me... you had a woman kick a trained peace officer and he responded by slamming her to the turf. And this is a justifiable action because the woman initiated the event by kicking the officer.

Is this what I'm basically understanding as your defense of the officer?

The guy that was shot in the back was murder.......I tend to view the Mexican guy that was shot as murder/ non- good shoot depending on evidence..... This woman here was an idiot and Eric Garner was an idiot....it sucks that both died but to blame anyone but theirselves is ridiculous.

Isn't that what cops are trained to do to secure the perp?

Eric Garner was screaming for his life and wasn't resisting.

I decided to run from the police when I was 19. I thought there were only two of them there. I took off and the last thing I heard was "We got a rabbit!"

Not long after I was gang tackled by two under covers in a manner that would have made Jancek smile.

Needless to say, they were a lot rougher on me than was needed once I was on the ground. Not fun at the time, but it sure makes me laugh now.

Side story with no relevance to the discussion at hand.

BS he was fighting with everything in him or he would have never ended up on the ground....it was then that he started gasping for breathe....the intent was not to kill but to control and would not have been necessary if he hadn't acted like a moron

Yeah I got guns drawn on me and jerked out of my car when I ran from the cops when I was younger.

We need to stop looking for excuse for citizens to act like idiots and start making them have some personal responsibility for their actions.

The citizens are dying out here, sir. I'm all for holding people accountable (that commit REAL crimes). But you have situations out here where citizens are dying over busted tail lights, selling loose cigarettes, improper lane changes, eyeballing the police, running from the police when they didn't have any charges, and reefer possession.

So... Now you're good with only taking the word of the victim. In this case the woman who hung herself? Get real man.

I'm asking... what video or evidence do you even have that she kicked him? All I was asking for was a link. If I see that she did kick him, then I will have no problem changing my position.

They aren't dying over any of those things....they are dying bc they act like idiots over marginal issues....I have been pulled over for a busted taillight, illegal lane change, rolling stop, running from the cops.....I survived all of them bc I didn't act like a moron.

You expect them to just take whatever it is someone wants to do? They can't use force when force is used on them, but someone who's given a flipping WARNING can?

I have to see the video of how all this goes down. If you have a link, please post it. Until then, I'm not going to hang on the word of a cop in his report.

He resisted which made the cops take him to the ground....if he had talked to the cops, moved on, taken his citation then he would be alive today....he had been warned multiple times....the guy was an idiot.

Where did I say that? I think being shot in the back, being rough rided to the station, and this woman mysteriously ending up dead are all issues. Did you know the sherrif of this department was suspended in his police career for abuse and was then elected to this position?
