To be honest, you've been dehumanizing victims of police brutality and saying you aren't backing the cops, which is worse than unconditionally backing the cops.
Your EXACT words were that the victim is always a dumbass.
Do me a favor, CP. Do a quick read on Darrien Hunt and tell me why he's a dumbass. If you say "well, don't run from the cops," tell me why I should trust a grown ass man running at me with a gun drawn, when I've done nothing, just because they have a badge. That's sheeple mentality. Sheeple.
Gimme a break Dink.... Tell me ONE good thing that can come from running from the cops? Getting away?..... Not likely to happen.... And everyone knows an ass kicking or worse follows when they catch you....right or wrong if you're dumb enough to run that makes you a dumbass. It doesn't dehumanize anyone it simply means they made their situation worse be acting like s dumbass....
I did as you asked and looked at a few articles on Darrien Hunt. Here's a passage from one of them:
(KUTV) A man who witnessed the confrontation between Saratoga Springs police and 22-year-old Darrien Hunt says it didn't happen exactly the way police are describing.
Hunt was shot and killed by Saratoga Springs police September 10. Police said Hunt was carrying a large sword at the time.
Wednesday, the Utah County Attorney's Office unsealed a search warrant in this case. In it they included statements from two witnesses who say Hunt swung the sword at officers.
Its very disturbing that the young man lost his life, said Leonard "John" Zogg, one of those witnesses. But he told 2News the search warrant released by the county attorneys office "didn't reflect some of the information that I shared with the police."
In the affidavit, Zogg is described as saying Hunt pulled out his sword and swung it at one of the officers. But Zogg says that's not true.
I only saw the flash of the sword as it was unsheathed, Zogg said. He also said he told police that officers didn't shoot until he was running away. However, the affidavit states shots were fired and then Hunt took off running.
I don't know what to make of it, Zogg said. I was kind of surprised.
The affidavit also states one of the officers at the scene said he "had to stop Mr. Hunt before he was able to hurt or kill someone."
The document also said Hunt had written a Facebook message prior to the incident saying, I have a sword and I'm going to get shot.
Lets assume he wants to commit suicide by cop, does that change anything? said Hunt family attorney Bob Sykes at a news conference Wednesday. No, it does not because he is a fleeing felon.
But University of Utah law professor Paul Cassell, who is not connected to this case, offers a different view.
Utah law allows police officers to shoot fleeing felons provided that fleeing felon poses an immediate risk, Cassell said. He also said it's important to wait until all the facts come out.
Its really hard until you know exactly what happened to make a conclusion one way or the other, said Cassell.
Back at Zogg's house, he's still perplexed.
I never heard anybody holler stop, never heard any loud dialogue that would distract people that are in the middle of a tense situation, Zogg said.
Another witness reportedly saw what happened. According to the affidavit, she told police Hunt swung the sword very hard at one of the officers. 2News was unable to contact that witness.
----------------
One witness saw the flash of the sword as it was unsheathed and another "reportedly"says she saw Hunt swing it at the cops.....add in the alleged Facebook post and it appears this story might not be as the media initially made it appear.
If what the witness said is true..... That he unsheathed the sword.... He qualifies as a dumbass....
