You guys heard anything else regarding the guy who was pepper sprayed for dropping the chip in Tulsa? I can't really find much.

The video coupled with the story I'm hearing really makes me wonder if it was real. The way the video is set up kind of looks fake too.

It originally started from an Infowars video. Even giving it the benefit of the doubt, there appears to be more to it than what was recorded.

Be warned it is a brutal video. You basically see him take his last breath

An Iraq War Veteran From Texas Dies While In Custody After Telling Jail Guards He Couldn't Breathe At Least 20 Times!
"I can't breathe! Help me! I'm choking on my blood!" These were among the last words uttered by Sgt James Brown, 26, before he died in 2012 while serving a two-day sentence for a DWI incident at the El Paso County Jail. The footage was released this past week showing what happened to the active-duty soldier from Fort Bliss before he passed away while in custody.
Heartbreaking Video Shows Active Duty Soldier Slowly Die as Riot Police Needlessly Assault Him. War Veteran From Texas Dies While In Custody After Telling Jail Guards He Couldn't Breathe 20 Times! Assault of Fort Bliss Soldier Sgt James Brown inside El Paso County Jail by Riot Police.
KFOX14 exclusive: video obtained of Fort Bliss soldier shows moments before his death while in custody
EL PASO, Texas - An active-duty Fort Bliss soldier self-reported for a two day DWI sentence at the El Paso County Jail in 2012 but died before he saw the light of day or his family again.

In July 2012, KFOX14 anchor Erika Castillo reported on the story of the mysterious circumstances surrounded the death of Sgt. James Brown while he was in jail.

KFOX14 fought all the way to the Texas attorney general to obtain the video to learn what happened to Brown before dying.

The graphic video obtained shows the moments before the death of Brown.

Warning: The footage obtained by KFOX14 contains graphic content. Viewer discretion is advised.

Brown served two tours of combat duty in Iraq. The decorated 26-year-old was on active duty at Fort bliss in July 2012, when he left his family for the weekend to self-report for a two day DWI sentence at the El Paso County Jail. When he checked in, jail records show that Brown reported in writing to the jail that he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress.

Brown's mother said when her son checked into the jail, he contacted her.

"He said they're trying to make me stay seven days instead of two days, so i just want to pay the court fine and get out of here," said Dinette Robinson-Scott.

Brown asked his mom to send the money to pay the fine in lieu of the jail time, which she did by the following morning. But by that time, something had gone terribly wrong.

The video shows at some point, Brown appeared to have an episode in his cell that caused him to bleed. It's not clear from where. When he refused to answer or speak to the jail guard, a team of guards in riot gear were brought in to storm his cell.

From beginning to the end of the recording, Brown stated he could not breathe.

By the end of the clip, Brown’s physical condition appears to deteriorate, showing shallow breathing and no longer blinking or being responsive. Brown appears to no longer be capable of pleading for anything. Attorneys say at no time was an ambulance or 911 called for help.

Brown’s mother, Dinetta Robinson-Scott, released the following statement to KFOX14:

“I pray that new laws protecting soldiers in custody will be implemented, that the military adopt new policy procedures in regards to their soldiers being held in custody by an outside agency. If these changes can be made and our soldiers are protected, and another family never has to experience what my family has, then my son's death would not been in vain.”

Browns mother turned to KFOX14 and said she wants Americans to see the video and see exactly what happened to her son in El Paso County Detention Center.

Brown was placed on a gurney and wheeled out of the jail and taken to University Medical Center where he was officially pronounced dead.
Brown family attorneys Jason Bowles and B.J. Crow said the video shows a gross violation of Brown’s constitutional rights.

“When a 26-year-old man checks into jail for a court imposed sentence on a Friday, and he leaves Sunday in a casket, something went horribly wrong there," said Crow.

Brown had no criminal record, and toxicology tests showed no illegal drugs in his body.
The autopsy results cited natural causes by sickle cell crisis.

The El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles issues a statement, released to KFOX14, agreeing with the autopsy.

“Mr. Brown's death was an unfortunate tragedy. The sheriff's office has conducted a thorough review of the facts surrounding Mr. Brown's death and, based upon all the evidence obtained, determined that his death was caused by a pre-existing medical condition. The specific evidence cannot be discussed because of pending litigation.”

Medical studies show sickle crisis lies dormant until it is triggered by dehydration and stress.
“He was bleeding out the ears, the nose, the mouth, his kidney's shut down, his blood pressure dropped to a very dangerous level, and his liver shut down,” said Crow.

Brown’s story is a federal civil trial that is expected to go to court in October.

They *****ing sit there and watched him die. They never called a ambulance. The man served his country and just had a baby. He told them when he first went in he had PTSD.

Jesus Christ I am not anti cop by any means but its time to change the way we train police.

COp sure escalated that one awfully fast.....
What continues to puzzle me is why people continue to antagonize the cops. I understand giving them the bird isn't illegal, but it's just asking for trouble. Are they looking to get assaulted or for a pay day?
They could be but cops like this have got to take it down about 100 notches. You job is to protect and serve the public not act like a damn teenage boy with anger issues. It may be rude but it isn't a crime to insult a cop.

Maybe they get tired of seeing them sit on the side of the road and extort people just trying to get to and from work/school instead of helping people like they're supposed to? I know I pass 3 road pirates every day sitting in the same spot and each day I get a little more frustrated.

Hell I was a corrections officer for years and I got called every name in the book and flipped off all the time. It sucks but that is life. You have to learn quick not to take stuff personally. If you got a thin skin then you don't need to be a cop.

I actually mooned a cop once...... By accident .... I was 16 and my buddy was driving..... We see the dude dressed up like a clown waiving at cars and etc trying to get them to pull in to the liquor store.... My buddy says moon that clown..... Well I did..... We were both unaware that the portable sign with the plastic letters sitting out by the road had a cop sitting behind it. He pulled us over and asked me if I thought mooning the police was a good idea.... Lol. When I told him it was an accident and that I was really mooning the clown and didn't even see him until it was too late he was cool and let us go.

Lots of cops I know tend to be short, stumpy, and always wearing MMA gloves. Some of them are the guys that got picked on in school. They didnt have the grades for a good college and they have a chip on their shoulder. They become cops and having that little bit of authority over others gets them off.

Of course this is not all or even most cops. It is a decent percentage of them though.

LOL he sounds like a good guy. One tie me and some friends were drinking a lot on this bridge next to my friends house. We were all underage and having a blast chugging beer and smashing the bottles on the rocks below. Sure enough the cops show up. I got hauled in but wasnt cuffed or booked. I was put into holding till the cop that brought me in shift ended. He actually took me all the way back to my car smiled and said no more drinking on bridges dip ****.

He was a really cool dude and I will never forget the break he gave me.

He is a guy from cop block....really disappointed by the video bc I was hoping the cop would kick the sh&t out of him.

So people who non-violently stand up for the rights and themselves and others should be pepper-sprayed, beaten, and caged even though they've broken no law?

You're the only person I know that can equate flipping someone off to standing up for their rights.

I was referencing that fact that he said the was from cop block. But... I feel that is absolutely a way one could express his dislike for a government official within the confines of the law.

There's probably far better, and more mature, ways of expressing his dislike for the police that likely won't garner their ire.

As I said before, when one goes looking for trouble and provoking a situation, they eventually are going to find it.

Couldn't agree more. But pulling the guy over and showing him just how incredibly correct his assumptions were about you is exponentially more immature.

How about both sides were equally wrong here? Doesn't that sum it up pretty well?

The only cops who should dislike cop block are the bad ones right?

Cop block is not trying to fix a bad situation.....they are trying to instigate situations.....They film what they want to show the public and edit out what they don't want to show the public. It's not a coincidence that the part that's not on film is the part that caused him to get pulled over.
