Maybe. Look, I don't come down hard on cops when they do good. But this incident had the typical a-hole cop vibe to it from the jump. What’s the story behind the video? The cop went to the wrong address on a burglary call?
If this is the case then give the cop hell for going to the wrong address. Had he been at the right address would you view the stop the same way?
And again, if I make a mistake at my job, it costs revenue or property damage, at best, or the loss of life or limb at the worst. These cops walk around with guns and act like gods and know damn well the copsuckers and bootlickers will defend their actions. Govt officials in uniform seem to have a cultish/fetish following on the right.I’m sure you function at 100% accuracy rate at your job. People make mistakes…. Doctors, lawyers, accountants….every profession. Had he been at the right address… was he out of line? Obviously in this instance he was, but what if he wasn’t and saw her backing out of the driveway…. Then she responds as she did?
“These cops”. They are all the same to you huh? You need help with your issuesAnd again, if I make a mistake at my job, it costs revenue or property damage, at best, or the loss of life or limb at the worst. On the fence with this one. Too many deaths have been attributed to the wrong address, wrong person, wrong description. If the cops can’t get the info right someone can and historically speaking do get hurt. The onus is on the police to be correct and accurate about the information they are about to act on. You can’t detain the first person you see who is doing a totally normal activity without any pc more than “a robbery happened in the area.” They were on the wrong road to begin with. That’s on the PD. Right road, this would have never occurred. Root cause, police being at the wrong place.
That being said, she has every right to be upset with an overly aggressive cop. She took it 10,000 miles beyond upset. Shut your mouth, don’t assist with the investigation since you are innocent and restate your rights. She was mind numbingly screeching nonsense, along with threats. You can not control the police actions but you can control your own and stay calm. She’s owed an apology. I’m sure there a civil suit in the wings if she can get a smart civil lawyer who can prove grounds.
She would be an excellent example of what not to do even if they made a mistake.I have to admit that when I posted this I didn't know the cop was at the wrong address, I thought he was investigating a call. That being said, people make mistakes and if that woman wasn't being a belligerent jerk, none of this would have happened.
Here’s an example of one that really pisses me off. I don’t know the back story, but dude just walks in and says the door was open and then doesn’t tell him if he has warrants. My fault for calling you a bootlicker. But your post had a bootlicker tone.
