Wtf did the neighbors call the cops? Seems like this story is missing some details.

I don’t agree with the arrest as well however this was the 2nd time DCS was called as the boy also wandered off from the home and was found in just a tshirt a year earlier

I agree that this isn’t the same as a parent being arrested because their child is neglected and wandering while they are on drugs which is the frequent use of these arrests normally. Sounds like the DA is the issue here wanting to “teach her a lesson”.

That's what they almost always do when it is convenient for them. But very rarely in a situation like this do they show discernment or common sense.

I would have to see what the statutes there say. In some cases blame is placed on them when they are just following the protocols dictated to them. That's why I asked the question.

Yeah. That is what I'm saying. I'm also saying that they have discretion to follow those directives. Every police encounter doesn't have to end in an arrest. They could have resolved this easily without incident if they wanted to.

In some cases officers do not have that discretion. I don't know if that's the case here or not though.

I think as a single mom of 4 kids she’s got her hands full and doesn’t need a lesson in court.

Agree but also losing your 4 year old 2-3 times in 2 years is a bit worrisome

You have never found a naked toddler running nude down the street in the cold because their mom is passed out on drugs. You have to investigate these calls

It sure is. My oldest was a wonderer when she was 2. Locks installed on the high side of the door fixed that.

I don't consider 10-15 minutes out of site "losing" a kid.

So if you didn’t know where your 2 year old was outside for 15 min, you wouldn’t worry? How about for half hour or an hour?

We're talking about a 4yo.

He was 2 and gone for half hour the first time this happened and a different family called 911. Dcs was called again apparently for a similar incident last year when he was 3 and now at 4 another incident. At what point would you consider it an issue that needs to be looked at?
