To Protect and to Serve II

Well the swastika was about peace until it wasn't
ok, so by that rationale, if islamic terrorists started doing the thumbs up with their hands every terrorist incident, would that be considered a hate symbol and people would need to stop it?
You all are getting trolled by an internet meme from 2017 and taking it seriously; it's like emailing the Nigerian Prince and asking about the millions he has promised

I understand 4chan and its origins. I also know that this group using it makes them look like complete idiots and likely quite racist. If they don't want to appear that way then they should be smarter about what symbols they adopt

The Fonz would be a terrorist.
I wonder what will start on 4chan today.
No, I don't.

I don't care what this group does, wear a OANN t-shirt, play the circle game, watch Paw Patrol and Live PD, NONE of it matters or is important.

Why do you care so much about meaningless drivel that means nothing?

You assume too much, but the same can be said for all groups.

It requires a certain level of paranoia, and this doesn't only apply to one side. It's both.

It's quite important to the national discussion over policing. It's obviously uncomfortable for you but it's still important

I don't disagree, the amount of dumb things that people on both sides get "offended by" are staggering.

30 years ago, people (even the most die hard liberal) would think some of this stuff is clinically insane. Now all you can do is sit back and laugh at the crazy

What do I assume? It's a still pic with the very obvious signs. If they don't want it to be misinterpreted then don't pose for it

I think you assume that humans are rational creatures who think about the consequences of their actions.
I think that is largely false.

I think I do. I don't think my young children can yet. Eventually people need to grow up and realize there are consequences for being stupid

Not pay attention to her surroundings. But when standards are lowered this is what happens
Standards are lowered? So if a group of protesters asked to her to take a pic and one in the back held up a sign saying "f*** Trump" is that her fault as well?

She did nothing wrong here, and to suggest she did is the same as suggesting these guys did as well, it's assuming way too much without any evidence supporting it

Have absolutely zero awareness to the current situation and is probably sympathizing with a bunch of racists.
So if a police officer took a picture with protestors and one of them has a Free Palestine shirt on, i can assume she's "probably sympathizing with a bunch of anti-semite racists"?

You mean like when people start paying attention to 4chan? Lowering standards like that?
Yes they got trolled but how much does the origin matter once it's adopted? There are ways to explain it away as the circle game by immature guys (like the Jasper photo earlier) or as an ok sign (I'm not going to call every scuba driver at racist) or even as a Vols symbol if thrown by a recruit. This just doesn't fit any of those

Adopted? So because 4-5 ACTUAL white supremacists have used it, it's "adopted"?

Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah took over wearing turbins from peaceful Muslims, so they adopted it as a hate symbol, thus all turbins are symbols of hate.

You really don't see an issue with that shallow line of thinking?

So you believe that there are several Democratic politicians and activists and protestors who are anti-Semite racists? Well at least you would be consistent, so i applaud you for that
I said YOU can assume something. Some of us actually dig deeper to try and find out if our assumptions are correct. Can't believe I'm actually teaching this to a cop 🤦‍♂️
