To Protect and to Serve II

“Americans should be outraged that police departments across the country continue to waste tax dollars and limited law enforcement resources on arresting otherwise law-abiding citizens for simple marijuana possession,” NORML Executive Director Erik Altieri said. We agree.

Yes.
Me. I know the family. It’s firsthand information I’m giving you.
Believe it....don’t.....I don’t care but the lessons remain.
Never trust the police.
Never talk to them without a lawyer.
I’m not saying you are lying. I question what the family told you. If there truly were an admission of guilt on the police there would be record of it

you know a shooting is NOT justifiable if there is a conviction on the officer, i.e. Walter Scott case where it was 100% a non-justified shooting....But 98% of police shootings are justified and legal...

Just to make sure I understand... Are you really saying that just because there isn't a conviction it means a shooting was justified? Also where is this 98% stat coming from?

Awesome avatar Cody.

I went and saw them about a month ago in Raleigh. Best show I have ever seen..and I am 42. It was my 2nd time seeing TOOL. Have seen APC once also. This tour and the new album are just masterpieces. Lateralus is probably still my favorite album all time but this 1 is very close and the set list on this tour plays almost all of the best songs from all 5 albums...insanely good. Anyway. Cheers

The first time I saw them was in 2001 when they were touring for Lateralus and I’ve proably seen them 7-8 times since. I haven’t seen them on this most recent tour though. Aenema and Lateralus and probably my two favorite albums though it’s hard to say which I like more.

Now how many lives were put at risk for someone simply violating an arbitrary traffic law and possessing some meth?
That’s not on the police
That’s on your lawmakers.
It’s unreasonable for the police to by blamed when someone runs and open fires from what began as a simple speeding issue.
Best that I can tell law enforcement did their job here. However if you want to have a conversation about decriminalizing all drugs then I’ll be glad to. I’m very much in favor of all drugs being decriminalized. Should be a public health issue.

um the pursuit happened because some lunatic hung out the window with a AK and started shooting at people in public...

are you saying that the officer should've just ignored that and went on his merry way?

Second line of the story... stopped for a traffic violation, not for firing off an AK-47.

The incident began in the 400-block of Highway 27 at approximately 7 p.m. on Jan. 9, when a THP trooper attempted to stop a Ford F150 for a traffic violation, WTVC reported.

Depends on the location. In lala land or DC sure.

yea probably should've let him speed, i mean he clearly isn't going to hurt anyone else...do you know why speeding is a legit safety issue?
The story didn't say speeding. It said "traffic violation".
