To Protect and to Serve II

This is a LEO thread and it was on the news. Discussion occurs. Don’t like it click another thread or write another post. Its not a strawman argument when it happens with intent. You really cannot compare mentally Ill people to maladjusted youths who should have enough common sense to know how to act.

I’m having a hard time seeing how my post wasn’t a part of said discussion but okay... It was literally in direct response to a post where he asked if we could imagine that happening to us on our job. I’m sorry that it apparently hurts your feelings that the poor little cops who got a bucket of water poured on them aren’t as big as victims as they’re trying to make themselves. But I’m not the one that took the discussion there.

Also... About half the people who try to throw or fling bodily fluids on us aren't mentally ill. They’re just a holes. Maybe I should’ve mentioned that. Oh wait... I did.

This is why I always find comments like this...

If you don't like the way law enforcement, government or the world works, then get out from behind your keyboard and do something about it.
so damn cute.

Just join the force and make it better. But if you try stop law enforcement from breaking the law, you’ll be ostracized and we’ll wreck your life. Good luck.

Uhh, why can't he try to change it with his keyboard? Probably about as effective as anything else

Get from behind your keyboard and do something about it then...

In the meantime, us LEO folks don't see any need to do anything from within to help our public perception or insure the long term safety of our men from an angry citizenry.
There are steps being taken but let's be real. You and others are only satisfied when revenge is taken like Dallas and Brooklyn.

Aww shucks, don't make me blush...

Such as???

The people that are in LEO would have much more of an effect from the inside than any entity or group of civilians from the outside. If the cops don't think change is necessary, than nothing I could do would fix it.

The burden to make things better is on you and other law enforcement officers, not on the civilians.

You're always talking about how wrong the system is.... and this is a government which gives power to its citizens to affect change. Is it easy, no, but possible, yes.

I'm not sure if this is hyperbole or what but, again, I can't recall a time when anyone in here actually championed the death of a cop.

There are some very strong opinions, for sure, but still...just opinions, not death chants.

Do you think the system needs change? Or are you okay with the status quo?

Very sorry.

I guess that was the only thing you were able to pull out of that quote. I'm sure holding LEO accountable for their own public perception and taking matters in their own hands was probably like reading Greek.
