To Protect and to Serve II

Police state, really? I agree there are some really bad cops out there but less than 1%. Thats actually pretty good considering the salary offered. The 1% needs to be totally eliminated and jailed if criminal, but police state?? I don't see it.

Hey tumscalcium, this is the type of person I was specifically talking about. Still has his head buried in the sand.

You mean his filter works at times better than others. Shows his true feelings imo.

I don't filter anything lol. There isn't any crafty language or trickery in my posts. I bring race up this one time just as a way of highlighting the obvious in this recent event and most of you get triggered. Hell, if I was bad as you think, I would have sided with the cop in this case...

Modern day highwaymen...

An Alabama speed trap out of control

Crozier's story is just one of more than a dozen similar tales from this small south Alabama town of about 550 people, where a police force five times larger than the national average per capita regularly uses speed traps to pull over out-of-town drivers, taking money and belongings on the basis that they were from the proceeds of drug crime, according to allegations in a current lawsuit against the town and its former Chief of Police.

As speeders slow down, Castleberry Police Department faces an uncertain future

In late October AL.com published an article detailing some of the tactics employed by Castleberry's police department while under the stewardship of former Police Chief Tracy Hawsey and former Mayor J.B. Jackson. Plaintiffs in a pending lawsuit accuse the town and Hawsey of using a speed trap to pull over out-of-town drivers, take their money and belongings on the basis that they were from the proceeds of drug crime. The police department would also tow the cars of those drivers, demanding a $500 fee for them to be released. Drugs and money confiscated from drivers has not been accounted for, according to the lead attorney on the lawsuit Richard Nix. Current Police Chief Stalley is also implicated in the lawsuit.

Most certainly do.

If you posted fairly you would talk about the justified uses of force, which by the way, dominates your perceived (usually) maniacal ideas that police are trained to beat citizens. You also depend heavily on the fake perception that these storm troopers seek minorities to carry out these beatings and try to sew this into a narrative that suggests that this is another way the government uses its authority to continue keeping people oppressed.

Saying you don't filter is disingenuous. You most certainly do, and you do it at a 99% rate. I find police brutality grotesque and sometimes systemic with poor leadership and training. Usually, however it is a lone act carried out by a singular individual who is later arrested.

The point is that it isn't just black folks taking the punishment or white guys administering the punishment. That's more for the BLM crowd that thinks this is a one way street. This crosses racial and gender lines. We have a serious problem in this police state we live in.

Police state?

Uhh no, my complaint is that police are poorly trained. They are trained to use lethal means but are not trained to use non-lethal means.

No, I think cops have no problem beating citizens of any race. And I think the same way of cops of all races. Whenever you put a uniform on most of these people, no matter the race, they seem to have no problem handing out their form of savage justice on the citizenry, no matter the race.

So see, me and you agree.

So I'm right.

You protest too much me thinks.

What's funny about all of this is because I chose to comment on the senseless arrest of a white woman by a black man at the school board meeting. Yet, you want to come in here with a left field accusation that I have selective racial outrage. Just 2 or 3 weeks ago, I was in here raging about the Shaver shooting.

I have never known you to be a racist Ras. You know that we are all flawed, and like me tire of the constant division. Its classic divide and conquer...we are all Gods children.

I don't recall ever thinking of you as a racial type guy...... and you've even eased up on your disdain for black women

Ras is one of the few who doesn’t use race as an excuse. It’s why I respect him.

I don’t agree with him on some issues, but he’s honest.

Nine charged for giving food to homeless in California

The group were protesting against an emergency ordinance in the city of El Cajon which was introduced in response to California's hepatitis A outbreak.

They handed out food, clothes and toiletries on Sunday before police arrived and issued citations.

Her husband threatened to hurt himself. Maples called 911 to get help. Then after police arrived – as she and her husband stood outside their home unarmed – she heard two gunshots from inside. A Wichita police officer fired at her dog – in a small living room occupied by her four children, ages 6 to 10. ...

When the officer shot at the family dog in the same room where her four children were gathered, a bullet fragmented and ricocheted off the concrete floor beneath the carpet where her 9-year-old daughter sat. The girl suffered wounds above her eye. At the hospital, Maples saw a bag with three fragments taken from her daughter’s forehead. ...

The officer’s target: a dog described by the family as a 35- to 40-pound miniature English bull terrier named Chevy. The dog suffered slight wounds from bullet fragments, Maples said.

Powerful Video of Milwaukee Chief Flynn after police commission meeting...

Police Chief Edward Flynn speaks to reporters after a Fire and Police Commission meeting Thursday night concerning the shooting of Dontre Hamilton. During the meeting, Flynn learned that a 5-year-old girl was shot and killed.

Chief Flynn after Nov. 6 police commission meeting - YouTube

Here was one opinion posted:

Police Chief Edward Flynn has had enough.
Recently, the chief of Milwaukee’s law enforcement agency came under attack by black activists. The activists accused Flynn of not taking a recent officer-involved shooting seriously. That shooting ended with a black man named Donte Hamilton dead. The officer was defending himself from a potentially deadly attack by the deranged Hamilton, who had taken a police baton and violently assaulted the responding officer.
As in Ferguson, groups very quickly accused white officers of being racist and of targeting blacks for no reason. At a police commission meeting related to that shooting, protesters began disrupting the group and shouting anti-police phrases at officers.
They also singled out Chief Flynn as being uncaring and mocked him for being on his cell phone during part of the meeting. There was only one problem: Flynn was actually on his phone being notified about a drive-by shooting that was carried out by a black gang, which took the life of a 5-year-old girl. When a reporter outside the meeting brought up the phone call as a way to belittle Chief Flynn, he took it personally — and unleashed a verbal thrashing on the gathered crowd. “I was on my phone, that’s true,” Flynn began. “I was following developments with a 5-year-old little girl, sitting on her dad’s lap who just got shot in the head by a drive by shooting.”
Then his demeanor changed, and Flynn appeared visibly upset by the words he had just spoken.
“If some of the people here gave a good ******* about the victimization of people in this community by crime, I’d take some of their invective more seriously.”
Then Flynn turned his righteous anger toward the race baiters, who were trying to use every event a to call white officers racist.
“The greatest racial disparity in the city of Milwaukee is getting shot and killed, hello! 80 percent of my homicide victims every year are African American. 80 percent of our aggravated assault victims are African American.”
He tore into the the people trying to use a police-involved shooting to push an agenda, instead of facing the real crime that is happening all around them.
“Now, they know all about the last three people that have been killed by the Milwaukee police department over the course of the last several years,” the upset Flynn stated. “There’s not one of them, can name one of the last three homicide victims we’ve had in this city.”
He continued: “This city is at risk all right — but it’s not because men and women in blue risk their lives protecting it.”
The veteran officer then tried to calm himself before finishing up with one final point.
“We’re going up there, and there’s a bunch of cops processing the scene of a dead kid. And they’re the ones that are gonna be out there patrolling and stopping suspects that might have guns under the front seat. They’re the ones that are gonna take the risk to their lives, to try to clean this thing up.”
The video is a moving reminder that it is easy to criticize the police — but the reality is, they are the ones who face crime and violence on a daily basis, so that others don’t have to.
It is refreshing to see this kind of brutal honesty about the black-on-black gang crime that is destroying cities… and to be reminded about who actually has to deal with it
