To Protect and to Serve II

I was going through my email and deleting some old crap this morning when I found this little gem I figured I'd pass along:

Subject was walking around the stadium (CenturyLink - Seattle, WA) playing exceptionally loud music from his portable speakers that were on his person. (see picture) Subject spoke to a number of officers, and was very proud of his battery pack system for his sound system. He had put a number of twelve volt batteries together giving him a huge amount of power and battery life. Subject showed the batteries and his homemade carrier to a detective and a sergeant who were assigned to the Seahawks game. (the detective was familiar with the subject)
Subject was told that it looked like a suicide vest and that he should leave the area. Prior to his leaving the area, photos were taken of him and the vest. As a precaution, the photos and subject’s information were shared with stadium security staff, SWAT
and Patrol.
Subject left the area.

Dude, don't act like you don't love some fresh from the bakery Krispy Kremes.

I hate to stereotype, but Cambodians make the best ****ing donuts in the world and Krispy Kreme is not even close.

Phoenix has a chain called Basha's with Cambodian ownership and then we also have a mom & pop Cambodian donut place a block away. I can't overstate how good their donuts are.

Until you take a trip to OKC with a dozen fresh from the bakery, I just can't go with that.

Think of it this way...take a Krispy Kreme glaze, make it thicker, it melts in your mouth even when it's not warm, and they cut it in half like a sandwich and spread nutella on it.

Or there is also the honey glazed cronut. I can't decide which I like more, but trust me...I know you're a cop, but I'm kind of a donut expert. I've had a lifelong infatuation and I worked at a donut shop for 6 months. :)

SEE IT: Infamous NYPD sergeant points gun at man recording her, then busts into apartment and arrests him

How do you become "infamous" as a cop?

Pichardo, a 13-year-veteran who is known on the gritty streets of Coney Island by the nickname "Pocahontas," has been named as a defendant in 20 federal lawsuits. The city has paid out settlements of nearly $400,000 to the plaintiffs, according to court records.

An NYPD spokeswoman said a disciplinary case against Pichardo stemming from the phone incident is "ongoing" and that her lawsuit history has been reviewed by the NYPD. Pichardo's union lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Oh, cops protect their own... no matter how bad of a cop they are.

Let's see how they do policing in Oklahoma.

New Oklahoma Highway Patrol Device Allows Troopers To Seize Money From Bank Accounts During Traffic Stops

The process of seizing money electronically works similar to civil asset forfeiture, where police can seize property or cash if they believe it is connected to a crime. They can do this without a warrant or arrest, and they don’t have to prove a crime was committed first.

If a trooper suspects you have money tied to a crime, the highway patrol can use the ERAD to scan any cards you have and seize the money.

It will be damn hard for them to get my bank card without me being arrested and in cuffs.

If you listen to all the fear mongering, they can hack your phone while doing a traffic stop. It BS.

Everyone knows I'm all in on a good conspiracy, but the FBI can't hack my iPhone, some city cop isn't going to steal my money off my credit/debit cards.

This one is pretty disturbing. But the South Carolina one of the shooting in the back sadly tops this one.

At least the guy that was shot had ran from the cop and was fighting with him beforehand. This kid was targeted and had done absolutely nothing wrong

Have you guys seen this one? The cop got four years..... I found this one to be more disturbing than most of the others we've seen in here.

Video shows Kansas officer tasering Bryce Masters for so long he went into cardiac arrest | Daily Mail Online

Police say Masters was pulled over because of a warrant attached to the license plate of the vehicle and was combative when ordered to get out.

Runnels said he could smell marijuana in the car. In the newly-released dashcam footage, Masters refuses to get out of the car and repeatedly asks whether he is being arrested.

Tased in the Chest for 23 Seconds, Dead for 8 Minutes, Now Facing a Lifetime of Recovery

The Masters didn’t worry much about Bryce in high school. He mostly kept out of trouble and hung out with friends from school. He was athletic and made good grades. But in the summer of 2014, Bryce started having run-ins with the local police. First, according to Bryce, he and a friend named Curtis Martes were searched by two Independence officers, Travis Gillihan and Timothy Runnels. The officers found half a joint but let them go. Then one morning in August 2014, after spending the night at a friend’s house in Independence, Bryce walked outside and approached his car, which was parked on the street. Officer Gillihan was involved again. Gillihan claimed he’d received a call about a suspicious car parked overnight, and he was waiting when Bryce walked outside. The officer pushed him against the car and began digging through his pockets. Bryce was carrying a small amount of marijuana in a baggie.

A friend at the Independence police station called Matt to tell him his son had just been arrested. Matt headed to jail and posted Bryce’s bail. Later, when they got home and Bryce described what had happened, something about the arrest didn’t seem right. Matt couldn’t see any probable cause. He told Bryce that the officer shouldn’t have gone into his pockets and the search was likely illegal.

Update on the Freddie Gray case:

Judge Finds Prosecutors Withheld Evidence in Freddie Gray Officer Case - ABC News

The judge overseeing the trial of a police officer charged with murder in the death of Freddie Gray has determined that prosecutors withheld information that would have been beneficial to the defense.

Judge Barry Williams was visibly angry in the Baltimore court, but he did not dismiss the charges against police officer Caesar Goodson, as his attorneys had requested. Williams is giving prosecutors until Monday to disclose any other relevant evidence they have withheld. Goodson was the driver of the van during the arrest of Gray, 25, last year.

Goodson's attorneys have argued that prosecutors withheld statements made last year by Donta Allen, a key witness. Allen was picked up by the Baltimore police van after Gray.

In his original statement to police in April last year, Allen said he heard banging coming from Gray's side of the vehicle. He gave a similar statement in a separate interview with prosecutors a month later, but the state never turned it over as evidence to defense attorneys. Williams found today that prosecutors committed a Brady violation — after Brady v. Maryland, a 1963 Supreme Court decision requiring prosecutors to disclose evidence that would aid the defense — because Allen's May 2015 statement was deemed exculpatory evidence.

Gotta give credit when credit is due. Good job by this cop and his department for training to handle dogs without lethal force. Now if we can just engage humans without using lethal force, this would be a better country.

Officer Goodson's verdict will be read Thursday morning. He is the officer facing the most serious charges for the Freddie Gray incident and probably the most responsible. If he walks Thursday I think the State will be in serious trouble int he remaining four cases. One resulted in a mistrial and the other was a not guilty on all counts.
