Cordarrelle Patterson lives up to the hype and really is a Julio Jones/AJ Green/Randy Moss-type college player.

What would your record prediction then be?

a much better run game solely for the fact that opposing teams know that any pass from anywhere could be a TD

No matter what I'm sticking with 7-8 wins. Don't want to get my hopes up. Just want to see the foundation look solid, so that next yr I can be more optimistic. Only blowout I'd muster up the power to swallow would be to Bama, though I think if all is ok up to this pt we should give them a game. GBO!!!

If he's Julio good or AJ good then we are a BCS caliber team. As I'm typing this I know I'm crazy, but if he is that special w/ DR and JH doing what they do I don't see how we will be stopped. Our depth and adjustment to a new DC would be the only thing to deter our progress. If there is any semblance of a running game at all, I think we will be a very good football team. The key word in my post is IF. I'm still seeing 8-9 W's until I see the proof on the field.

Just off of that, I say CP is good for 1-2 touchdowns a game against good competition, more against weaker. So with that kind of contribution, he could potentially boost the team's record 1-2 more wins against the better competition(SEC teams). Now as far as overall record let me ask...

Are our other two big receivers healthy all season? Is Bray the QB all season, healthy? How's the running game? Do the guys on our DL pan out and live up to their expectations? How's our kicking game?

If he lives up to the hype and UT stays injury free? 14-0. 10-2 reg season, at worst.

Patterson is going to be a good player here, but with limited time to learn the playbook this summer and fall, it hard to see him making a Hunter or Rogers type difference on offense. If anything, he makes those two guys a bit better, just for the sole purpose of his speed and quickness.

How do ya'll think darick handles less looks his way?

To be honest....if he gets less looks, I think he will handle it just fine. DR is going to be looked at by the NFL this year regardless. Last years performance guarantees that. He needs to show he can block and then look real good on the passes that are thrown to him, but I think as fr as handling goes....he will be fine. There are $$$ on the line now.

Look good for TN this year and go earn you're big bucks in the NFL DR. I would do the same if I wasn't old....short......and had any semblance of talent. :dance2:

8-4. I think the defense still needs work. Plus, if I dont' set my sights too high, then I'm not let down as much when we don't reach "my" goal. :)

8-9 wins if he really is a world beater. I am not confident enough in the D to be sure we won't end up in some shootouts. Unless you have Cam Newton you generally lose a few of those.

I've consistently thought we win the three easy ones, NC state, and sweep vandi/kentucky/Missouri. I thought we would beat Florida and lose to GA, but the way things are going we'll have to play GA at the Athens jail, so we may win it. I think we lose to two, SC/Miss State/Bama, you pick.

There you go, optimistic 9-3. We'll probably drop one that I didn't see through my orange tinted glasses making it 8-4.

I don't think this is realistic at all, but if he is on THAT level, we might be SEC champs.

I'm excited about him coming in, but even I'm not drinking that much orange kool-aid. 10 wins at the most.....unless he plays defense too!:p
