To Me this weekend tells the tale on Dooley

Well, using the "law of averages" is a logical fallacy, but I have this nagging feeling that UGA has been the victim of more unlucky breaks than bad coaching. So, he might be due... in a way.

In reality, however, I think the Vols will win or lose based in large part on Poole's performance. That gives me a pretty good feeling.

I'm with you on this. Rest of our year will be based on Poole's performance. And with him breaking LSU'S back the way he did, I look for Dooley the rely more and more on Poole with 20-25 carries or more per game. And I would def give Dooley more time, maybe another 12 months before dropping my thoughts on his accomplishments thus far.

Georgia is struggling but the fact of the matter is they have a better roster than us and a coach with an SEC Championship ring. We might get them because we are scrappy and Dooley has done a great job of getting this team to limit mistakes but to expect a win here is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

If you believe that about preseason predictions, you might re-read the thread with the same title.

Sorry, was referring to the "experts". Athlon, Lindy, ESPN analysts, Talkin' Football, etc. I read the preseason stuff on here too. Lots of 5-7 or 6-6 talk.

How, please tell, so I can understand.

I was joking... I want your predictions about CDD and tennessee football to be wrong... and I would assume you want it to be wrong too. So we can enjoy winning sooner rather than later.

Agree lets not set ourself up for a win, they may be down but if we overlook them then we are doomed. Lets hope we play 4 quarters with them and get out with a win.

5-7 and 6-6 are realistic so could 7-5 but then we would really be optimistic but like they say anything can happen in coolege football! I am going more on the lines of 6-6

Thanks for the link. Like I said, LOTS of 5-7, 6-6 talk sprinkled in with sarcastic 9-3 or undefeated predictions.

Now, note that the off-season posters with those predictions are now 'negavols' and the board is infiltrated by many Kool-Aid types who didn't predict.

This later group is a lot closer to UT's 'silent majority'---slightly ahead as they are learning about the realities here. That group also had some "i told you so' types who really didn't tell anything.

Yep. He's no idiot as is Les Miles.

He's just been too complacent with his staff. All reports out of UGA are that he's taking the 'bull by the horns' this week.

You think Richt can be complacent for 3+ years and following a terrible loss at Colorado, flip the switch and field a team any different than the one that is 1-4?

I don't.

I don't see any flip switching, but teams do improve over a season.

I think we win though.

Some hyperbole in your post (e.g. I disagree with your summary of 3 years of complacency at UGA), but we'll find out in about 24 hours if they're ready to play.

I think he'll have his team and staff ready for the Vols and it will show.

Our team will be ready to play as well. We'll just get out-coached and out-talented. It's not all about effort.
