To give you an idea how bad it is

I wasn't impressed with their team which says a lot about ours since they beat us on our own field again.

That's exactly the point. They are a mash unit right now Top WR out, 3 starting ol out, 2nd best LB out and top RB injured in the game. With the exception of #16, their secondary isn't very good. And their WR's are all freshman or sophomores. TN should own the talent gap.

Only 1 SC coach had ever won in Knoxville until yesterday. They had only won 2 previous times.

Yeah but Muschamp had already won here before. Essentially both coaches that won at UT with South Carolina already had previous wins in Knoxville.

So technically, your stat about how bad we are isn’t really anything noteworthy as there is no context to it.

You're right, but there is a difference in winning with FL talent vs SC talent. That's my point.

Talent had nothing to do with Spurrier and Muschamp winning in Knoxville at South Carolina.

Coaching did. This note about now having 2 SC coaches winning in Knoxville isn’t that if of a deal. If anything, to give people an idea of how bad it is, Butch is now 14-21 in SEC play in 4.5 years. That’s worse than two former Florida coaches beating us with another team

Coaching did.

I think this is the nub of it. Butch has coached at Wilkes College, Rutgers, West Virginia, Central Michigan, Cincinnati and now Tennessee ... with Tennessee being the only MAJOR program he as been associated with.

Muschamp, on the other hand, includes stints at Auburn, LSU, Miami (Dolphins), Florida, Texas. His whole career is MAJOR programs.

I guess the plan is to let the team take a beating at Alabama and then say goodbye to Butch. This way the interim want look so bad starting out and has a chance to probably win three more games and get us to six and a Bowl game. I will be totally shocked if Butch is allowed to continue after Bama beat us 48 to 0.

Probably means not-a-thing to Currie / to the Jones-Currie relationship. To Currie, it's likely only 1 SC has won since he's been here.

To give you an idea of how bad it is...

....The Gruden thread contains more logic than most threads in the FF.

I’ll one up your stat

Every coach that has lost to SC has been fired
- SC was Majors nail in the coffin
- Fulmer
- Dooley
- Jones

That said - WE GET IT. Butch is gone.

Arkansas was Majors nail in the coffin. Off top of head, a 23-22-ish type game

Saban will name the score in that game, depending on how angry he is at game time, and how well he feels that his first stringers are executing.

If Saban is merciful he will hang 100 on us to force the Butch Jones firing before the team makes it back to Knoxville.

saban could beat us playing his third string, due to injuries scar had to play a lot of 3s. And still whipped our ass. :shakehead:

All of SC injuries doesn't mean anything versus the obstacles UT has to over come with Butch in control. Not only is his football knowledge minimal at best, be he has no idea how to manage a football game.
