This is what it takes. With all the OC, Coaching and Recruiting discussions ongoing, I think it might be good to review what it takes to be the best. From the life of the master, a video of a life of dedication to a craft.

Could not open... but sending JG there would be a good thing.... Peyton was not mobile, and surely could provide some feedback about operating inside of a pocket, that will help the lad.

JG: wow Peyton Manning, I am so glad you took the time to help me.
Peyton: no problem man so do you have any questions for me?
JG: as a matter of fact I do. How do you become a better QB when your offensive line could not effectively block a HS DL? Or when your WRs lead the SEC in drops and cannot get open consistently?
Peyton: hmmm, well Jarrett I honestly dont know what to tell you. I always had a great OL, WRs and RBs. Until you get a decent OL, just do the best you can.

JG:"Hey Peyton, I need some leadership advise"
PM:"OK, shoot kid"
JG:"OK... what's the most polite way of telling your OL you wished they were never born"?
JG: "One unrelated follow-up question.... Do you feel that CTE is a real thing cause I need to plan for that?"

Peyton: Good questions JG, any other questions?
JG: Do you think it would be OK to give all the haters a Rashad Gaulden salute, and say wait till next year, when I have a hopeful resemblance of an OL?
Peyton: I supposedly mooned a trainer in the locker room once, and I had to pay for the "emotional trauma" it caused...

Butch - Why should you get a scholly?
Al Bundy - I scored 4 TDs in 1 game as a fullback

I love these threads.
"You idiots need to stop knocking JG, he gives his all for UT and anyone who knocks him isn't a real fan"

Same guy 2 pages later
"Drew Richmond sucks, I wish he would have never come to UT and the rest of the OL shouldn't even be playing in the OVC"

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I for one like JG and appreciate his toughness and defended his supposed "sulking" on the sideline his first game.

However none of those facts take away from the fact that at this moment in time he is an average at best qb. Can he get better? I fully think he can. It will require dedication on his part, his qb coach and his Offensive Coordinator ( that is assuming he will have one in time to learn his playbook and calls.)

This coming season likely won't be a ton better as everyone on the offense will have to learn yet another "language" and rules with a new OC. This includes the Oline, so i don't expect them to drastically improve in blown assignments this season. Maybe Friend will be able to better work within the new OC's parameters and there will be improvements but this would come as a surprise.

Hopefully things work out well for JG and he lights it up in '19. But again, this would come as a surprise.

Easy there Trigger, would you say that to Richmond's and the rest of the Oline's face?
That's what I thought

Yeah.....because JG never held the ball too long. Sigh.

Look, we all get it, our o line sucked, but JG is a human sack machine. He’d have taken too many sacks playing behind the lines that Peyton did. I’m sorry, but that hasn’t changed since he’s been here. The dude lacks the “it” between the ears to process the game quickly enough.
