Here's a better question: How many Indianapolis Colts fans here, are Indianapolis "Manning" fans?

I mean when Manning goes, will your Colts hats and apparel follow suit?

Let's be honest. Take away Peyton, and the Colts...well they suck. So will you still cheer for them regardless?

I for one will follow Indy, post-peyton.

I'm a Colts fan since 94' Pre-Peyton. Manning was just icing on the cake.

So no you don't have to be a Colts fan to be a true Vols fan. Take it from a true Colts fan.

Yes they would.
Yes I will.
So will I, C4L.

I was in 4th grade when PM was drafted. I was a huge Vols fan already and didn't really have a pro team. If I had a team I rooted for pre-Peyton, it was the Packers.

I lol at Titans fans trying to tell me what team I should root for when their team is the Houston Oilers.
My feelings exactly. I've been a Cowboys fan since 1977 and see no reason to change my allegiance just because a team moved into Nashville. Having said that, I've been to several Titans games and do tend to pull for them as long as they're not playing the Cowboys.

Not to show my age, but I do believe a large part of the "Titans Fan" debate is whether or not you already had a team before they moved here. If you grew up only knowing the Titans, then yes...you think they are the state team.

If, however, you view them as a team that moved here (with little excitement from this end of the state), you see them as just another team. As I said in my earlier post, Peyton did more for my appreciation of football than the Titans did.

I agree with the school of thought that they should have been called the Nashville Titans, leaving the "Tennessee" tag just for the Vols. Think about how many other teams are named after cities instead of the state: 49's, Cowboys, Dolphins, Eagles, Chargers...etc. etc. etc...

I was an NFL team "nomad" I guess. Had a lot of NFL stuff but no favorite team.

Dad is a life long Bears fan so I had some of Chicago stuff. I had a Marino and Favre Jersey and 49ers play football gear (ya know, plastic helmet and pads, jersey) and a Cowboys Starter jacket.

All that was before Indy became MY team.

I think if you have to ask yourself if your a Vol fan, your probably not. You just want to be. And if someone asks you and you have to wonder, or make a thread for assurance, your probably not and just want to be

:cray:I don't consider myself old, but that made me feel ancient.

Peyton and I are the same age. Hopefully we have some good years left in us :good!:

This was my exact position only being a year younger. I will still be a Colts fan regardless of Peyton.
